A fun idea I figured I'd share. Your characters as bridge officers.

So I like to have lots of characters. I also, over time of course, like to get their appearance just right and grow ever more attached to the artsy details. I had the thought that I could go in to my characters appearance settings and take note of all the body sliders and uniform options etc then rename and edit the appearance of all of my characters Boffs to be my alts. Of course I would need to get boffs of correct race and sex but I thought I would share this idea with the community because if done in full I think it would be quite neat.

Do you mean as in having a playable Elisa Flores? Because folks're already doing that ;) If you mean customizing BOFFs to be unique characters, yup, they already do that too ;)

Why make notes of the slider positions? Save the outfit then when you have the BOff of correct race and gender you can use that saved outfit to duplicate the character. Just make sure the checkbox for outfit only is NOT checked. Oh and if your character in question uses uniform parts that are character only unlocks you will have to buy that uniform on the next character too.

Gonna be difficult to have a Bajoran, Romulan and a Nausicaan all on the same ship...

You can save the tailor options of your characters and boffs and copy and paste them as you like. Copy/paste your captain to the boff of an alt and or copy/paste a boff onto an alt; you now have one of your boffs as a playable captain.

I would love to see a mechanic so we can select the playable character from the crew.

    Marcus:
I would never presume that in the 9+ years of this game others have not done this already. I am however certain that all players of Star Trek Online that would pursue this have not necessarily had it dawn on them yet. Great to have your lovely addition to this thread though.

    Bonzo:
    good one.

I have yet to find working character template saves on console, that is assuming you are lucky and don't already suffer from th locked uniform bug.

Oh, you are a console player. Sorry I didn't realize. While I am at it, sorry again for all the things we have on PC that you don't.

Fed-Rom Captain would allow a Romulan BOff, a Bajoran BOff, and a Nausicaan for the Diplo-BOff, not necessarily difficult there.

KDF-Rom would have Romulans and Nausicaans by default, then you just need an Alien, mostly human but with the ridged nose options for a Bajoran.

KDF and Fed, that's what Aliens and in the Fed/Nausicaan case, Diplo-BOffs are for.
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

I used the 'alien' template for an Andorian KDF officer. It may not be as hard as you think. :)

    Qapla!
Ahh, I see someone has already pointed that option out.

I've seen this done lots of times. I've been considering doing it too, by making several of my favorite boffs into playable characters. I got the idea from when I used to write my own Trek fanfaction series, and all my toons and their boffs were the characters in it. I thought it'd be cool to have some of my captain's senior officers get promoted and get command of their own starships after he (my main) got promoted to admiral.

I play on both PC and Console, the latter a lot more at this time. Naturally I have been taking in to consideration the console version is all. I see lots of Console questions getting answered with PC answers without either party knowing.
