Yes, on the forums, more precisely the tribble forums. People not frequenting the Tribble forums or the forums at all got their information 24 hours before the change.

There is no way around it - Cryptic's information policy is horrible.

^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou

With respect, that is apparently not working for most people as an information source. I would hope improvements are made in reaching the majority with important information. :)

As with the other thread (too bad there are two of them) I'd recommend using the in-game mail system as a means to send newsletters to everyone in-game with the option to disable them if the player desires. The in-game mail systems needs a serious facelieft, with the option to filter messages, get messages marked as "official" and the option for us to create folders to sort messages we like to keep. If a regular newsletter keeps players informed in the actual game nobody could really claim to "miss" stuff. Of course, Cryptic would have to abandon the "only inform people 24 hours prior to finalized changes" policy for this to work.

Inform early about big changes that will alter gear, projects, etc. Drop the good surprises (like giveaways or new C-store stuff) three days early if they like, so it doesn't mess with their money to much.

I could live with that. Still, I would prefer reasonable dev-player communication like we had years before, but I guess that's off the table.

i think imperialgemini had a right to voice his argument

Yes. Yes, he does have that right. And he used it.
none of you offer any intelligent solution or alternative or tried to help the man in any way.

What 'help' do you think he needed? He made the claim that there had been no announcement of the change. People responding informed him otherwise, including where to look for information on upcoming changes. What more does he (or anyone else making the same claim) need?
a lot of us cant throw away z 100 bucks a week so you can buy the big ship and talk ****

    *lol* What?
I assume this might be the end game for star trek online and thier play book is to grab that cash with both hands and make a dash!

The heck are you on about? The change was replacing Commodities with Energy Credits. ECs are a fictional currency, made in the game. Commodities are purchased with ECs. How the heck do you drag real life currency into this?

i think imperialgemini had a right to voice his argument,,and a change that drastic should of been brought up by the developers well in advance..as I read the responses to this thread, none of you offer any intelligent solution or alternative or tried to help the man in any way.instead you just ran your mouth and said nothing,,be advised I wont ever join ur fleets, and a lot of us cant throw away z 100 bucks a week so you can buy the big ship and talk ****.the lesson I learn here if this is how you people respond to others concerns here, never will I come to forums here again,,and I did notice a pattern with these developers as 2 tickets I sent in never had a response.so I assume this might be the end game for star trek online and thier play book is to grab that cash with both hands and make a dash! just a thought...

Oh, this is going to end well. :)

N.B. I make 10 mil like every day, from Admiralty alone. If losing 10 mil is going to get you this upset, you've been doing it wrong. VERY wrong.

Wow, a 3 year self necro. The OP has lost many nights of sleep over the last 3 years apparently.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
