Each of us have different play styles, whether it's the MMO "stereotype" of Kill-Loot-Level-Repeat or the story-oriented roleplay style, or even something in between. Fleets allow us to more easily connect to individuals of similar styles...
By default, a new fleet is set up in a MMO "guild" type fashion.
* Recruit - no privileges
* Member - basic privileges
* Sergeant - Member w/ Moderator rights
* Junior Officer
* Officer
* Senior Officer
* Leader
When I first created my own (Frontier Fleet), I had set up a "position" type privileges.
* Provisional Officer - New members on a probationary period
* Officer - All regular members beneath the in-game rank of Captain
* Captain - Regular members with the in-game rank of Captain
* Logistics Officer - Moderated Bank transactions to prevent leeching
* Operations Officer - Created & ran events & foundry missions for members to enjoy
* Staff Officer - Ran the behind-the-scenes work of keeping the fleet alive
* Fleet Commander - Me (at the time, I've stepped down since then)
Many RP-oriented fleets have a rank-based organization
* Lieutenant
* Lieutenant Commander
* Commander
* Captain - Veteran members
* Rear Admiral - Staff members
* Vice Admiral - Senior Staff
* Fleet Admiral - Leader
Naturally, there are dozens of other possible ways this could be set up. I'd like to know how other fleets are set up and why?
