Getting new ship after reaching lvl 50 ?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
So after reaching lvl 50, i should focusing gathering fleet marks/fleet modules ?
Or is there any other way to get a tier 5 ship upgradable ?

    Are you on console? Which ship are you interested in?

    A T6 would likely be a better option. There's plenty of ships in the C-Store. There are also fleet versions as well. Trading dilithium for zen is always tried and true for C-Store versions or you could just pay outright. Also by acquiring a C-Store ship you'll get the unlock for your account and a fleet ship module discount meaning that a fleet version will cost only 1 module for each character.

    You could buy one from the c-store.
    However, the winter event is coming fairly soon, they give a free T6 ship for participating in that event.
    Usually these ships are quite good.
    Last free T6 we got was from the summer/risa event. And its a monster offensively.

    If you're going to buy one (C-Store) as @salazarraze suggests... I'd recommend the Intrepid T6 or Scryer T6. The new temporal ships in the C-store look pretty badass also. But I haven't tried them yet.

    If you want to save up 200-300 mil EC, you could buy a Paradox off the exchange.
    A science oriented Carrier. Based of the look of the Mobius Temporal Destroyer (which is also another Lobi ship but T5 with free upgrade to T5U). Paradox is also one of 2 science based ships that have a 4/3 weapons layout.


    In the meantime, you can probably do fine with the free Dyson science ship.

    On top of that i want to earn a ship, not to buy one with real cash.

    There was a mission in the Dyson arc that awarded the player with a Dyson Science ship.
    Maybe that was limited time. It was a T5. And a decent science ship for a freebie.

    Anyway if the Dyson option is out, you could always buy a mirror science ship for fairly cheap on the exchange, like 5-10 mil.
    They are T5 and not upgradable to T5U, but should do a good enough job until you can save up enough dil to trade for 3000 zen (price of a c-store ship). Or save enough ec to buy a more "premium" ship on the exchange for around 200-300 mil for the Paradox I mentioned earlier.

    Yes, that was a limited time reward like the Kobali cruiser. That ship is available for lobi, but not free anymore.

    The cheapest upgradeable T5's are lockbox consolation prize ships from delta quadrant races (but not the mirror universe ships, those are not upgradeable). These are sold on exchange for few million EC. You will of course need an upgrade token, too.

    Winter event comes in december, you can earn a free T6 from it.

    Other than that, your options for T5U/T6 are pretty much down to C-Store, Fleet ships or grand prize lockbox/lobi store ships that are rather expensive.

    Blue quality ship packs on exchange. Currently all 4 million ECs or less.
