I'm on Xbox One and may just not be looking at the right place onscreen or in the correct way on startup menu, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
If you're on one of the Console ports, you can't as yet. The 'Agents of Yesterday" expansion and content is only on the PC version atm. It hasn't been released to either the XBone or PS4 versions yet (along with a host of other features.)
Cryptic will eventually bring all that content to the Console versions, but they haven't announced any timeframe for that as yet.

PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
Thanks for letting me know, as that is what I had begun to suspect. I certainly would have been happy to pay for that dlc.
That's one of the (few) good things about STO, it really is free to play. No content locked behind paywalls here, only shinies and various other bling-bling.

I am very sorry to tell you this, but you will (probably) never be able to pay for that DLC.
That kind of content is free on STO.
Now, if you really must spend money on stuff - on PC, the Agents of Yesterday launch also came with a Temporal Agent ship pack. And ships do cost in STO.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
I'm looking forward to AOY on the Xbox One! Although I've been told it's over before you know it lol
Pretty much. The TOS "faction" is kind of joke. 6 missions that serve as a lengthy tutorial and then you're a normal fed with different character animations (beam out, tricorder, scanning) and that's about it. I would call it "subfaction" but even that's an overstatement.
Aside from that AOY is only like 7 episodes and 2 queues.

Sort of like a nice callback side mission that homages TOS, and I can live with that.

So just something to get players to start a new character. Or for some to buy more character slots lol
If the Tutorial is better than the original one that would be a "win" in my book. You have to teach yourself how to play this game.
I know exactly what you mean! I liked the storylines of all three faction starting tutoritals, but yes, you really are left to figure most things out for yourself beyond the simple basics that are introduced within each opener?
