C-Store Boff Power Token?

There's various ships out there that have a split boff seating ability, typically under the Intel, Command, Pilot or Temporal theme. I can't speak for everyone, but I've found the Command powers to be particularly poor, and yet I'm a Cruiser player, and eventually (on the PS4) hope to grab myself one (or three) of the Odyssey ships, or an Excelsior. The problem I have? They come with a Command power.

Wondering whether Cryptic would humour the idea of a c-store token that allows any given player to change one boff seating per ship (applies only to the hybrid seats). You may of course put limitations on them; an Odyssey with a Pilot power may seem a bit odd for example.. Could quite possibly exclude Lock Box and Lobi ships too; they're limited in their roles for a reason (I'd imagine?).

An idea worthy of discussion?

    Short answer: No.

    Long answer:
    - balancing issues,
    - probably database issues
    - most important one: it would make new ships sell less

    - balancing issues,
    Maybe...
    - probably database issues
    Granted, quite likely...
    - most important one: it would make new ships sell less
Why? Ships would still sell at 2000/2500zen regardless. Notice I've excluded reward and/or lock box ships, so their values would remain the same (although their value is decided on by the playerbase anyway, and not Cryptic).

Because you don't need to buy the ship for 2,000 Zen if you can already have the stats on another ship.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Cute idea but they are generally cheap on the exchange.

Let me give you a real example:
The Pilot Escorts are widely regarded as the best escorts in the game even though some/most pilot skills are underwhelming.
With your token I could switch out the pilot seating to Intel for OSS,etc. and make the Phantom obsolete.
Same with Temporal and the Theseus.

One can probably do that simple thought exercise for every ship class and every faction.

So instead of buying a new T6 ship for 3000zen to play with the new boff powers I'd just have to pay X to get access to the new shiny that Cryptic created to sell new ships. Furthermore I'd get to keep the pilot maneuvers which in many cases are more useful than the built-in Temporal or Intel clickies.

Now tell me what would make a player buy a new ship? A new over-powered trait? A new more desirable mechanic? A better look?
In the end ships sales would drop off to a point that it would not be cost effective anymore.
