Well, as it says, everytime I try to launch Tribble since the last big patch, it crashes to a bug report. The auto verify only checks the primary Live server. Anyway around this? Delete tribble server and patch again?
I have the same problem, we i click engage it crashes, i tried many things, delete server files, running it in safe mode but nothing.......it's frustrating
same issue, tho i removed Gameprefs from local data and managed to get 1 step closer, but the crash.. had a Very Very Strange bug report. i will try to recreate the same thing again and see if it happens and then put a screen of all that.
I was previously able to bypass it by deleting and reinstalling the whole shard, but that is quite annoying and time consuming to do everytime it pops up. I verified that my graphics, OS, DirectX, and Java drivers are all up to date and Forced verification does not report any errors with the shard either. Trying to start it using "Safe Mode: enabled" does not work either.
I filed a Support Ticket, #160925-004865, on this and several other issues, but it took the Game Masters almost a whole week to respond with this:
"please be reminded that as of now, we do not support test server issues. Please refer to this link for further information regarding the Tribble test server: http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/categories/tribble-general-discussion-and-feedback"
WTF
That is news to me. Never saw that bit of info anywhere before, especially on the Support Site like it does for account issues. The link in the response was like that scene in A Few Good Men where they request one log and get a whole truckload of irrelevant papers.
From the first 10 pages of threads I've looked through so far, it looks like @CrypticSpartan#0627 is the Dev tasked with handling these issues. I hope he, or LT, or even Mike chimes in on this, cause we shouldn't have to keep falling back to delete/reload every time this persistent bug rears its fugly head. TBH, I wish the Dev team would just collectively say "that's it, let's take a year off from new episodes to liberate STO from being dependant on DirectX!" cause apparently DirectX is the Weakest Link and the root of all evil for this game.
I can play Holodeck just fine, but I can't play Tribble any more... I am getting past the "Engage" button, and it goes to the Cryptic loading screen, then I get the really pretty ESD background and it stalls indefinitely. I get an error that says "Unable to find required game data files. If this problem persists, reinstalling the application may fix the situation."
Why would I have to reinstall the application if Holodeck works fine? Also, I have already tried a force-verify on Tribble also...
Any help, thanks!

not the whole game, just the tribble part of it- I'd try deleting just one of the files in the Star Trek Online\Playtest\piggs\ folder and then do another force verify to see if that'll kick it into gear, then if that doesn't work, delete the \Playtest\ folder to reinstall the Tribble part of STO. That's what i had to do for previous times it occurred. I did read on another thread that you can try to copy the local files from holodeck into tribble to see if it'll fix any errors that way, but i've not needed to try that yet.
BTW whatever they did for the patch a week after my previous post worked and i was able to get into Tribble again. Even got to make a nice review of K13 for my fleet.
UPDATE v2.0 - so, the solution was: I deleted all the files out of the "playtest" folder, copied over my "live" folder files, and repatched... Got in...

This is the 3rd time I have been unable to access Tribble in the past year. I am aware that this is a persistent bug that was reported by many users throughout the history of the game. - 21 threads worth of it and rising!
