It was not developed as a alternate means of play for PC players as STO already has that market tapped ...... and is doing it's best to bleed it dry...
J/K about the "bleed it dry"
The only slap in the face any PC lifetime members are getting is them smacking their own faces against the welcoming hand that Cryptic has held out to the console exclusive players.
I will not be buying a lifetime subscription a second time. The cost is far too expensive to buy it again. I would consider paying an upgrade fee to get my lifetime subscription benefits on the console as well as on the PC, but even the current sale price is really high for someone that has already payed on PC who would now like to play on console. I think I understand the business reasons for the decision. From the point of view of the players, though, it is a slap in the face, and a pretty greedy move.
I don't expect to have my progress transfer from PC to console or to have items from the PC version transfer. I have a lot of Zen points that I have not been able to spend on the PC because I haven't been able to play the game. Why shouldn't I be able to choose to spend those points on the console version instead? I don't think that would be unreasonable. If they have to be separate subscriptions for business reasons, then offer a major discount for PC subscribers to add a lifetime subscription to the console version. That would be more reasonable.
