Problem with celling a Master Kays in Exchange

Hello... Yesterday I bought 10 Master Keys from C-Store and I tried selling it in Exchange. When I tried to drag in Exchange I understood these Keys are Bound to Character or Account. So my question is: Is this a bug, or that is a new policy of Cryptic?

sometimes when you buy zen through steam(and possibly console now?) there is a probationary period where anything you buy with it becomes bound to you. I believe the reason is because for a certain time period people who buy through steam(and possibly console now?) can dispute their purchase and get their money back from the provider, and Cryptic doesn't want people doing that after they have already sold something to another player that they bought with zen.

also, if you are just buying something to sell for EC, you will get more EC for your money selliing r&D packs then you would selling master keys.

So I will wait to see that bam can be removed in the future. :-)

As mentioned, Steam & the zen store don't get along. You are left with 3 choices, wait for the probation period to end & the keys become unbound (no idea how long), open boxes with them understanding that anything you get at this point will also be bound, or delete them & accept the monetary loss. Myself I'd go with the first.

Yea I opened boxes and you are right - the items from boxes was aslo Bound. So I will wait for this period will over.

Just a note OP. Steam is nothing to do with Cryptic, and that's generally the issue as they are essentially just a 3rd party selling and to be frankly honesty, you really shouldn't run and you have no need to use Steam for STO. Steam has zero benefits and is just a memory hog compared to using STO's own launcher.

The few first times you use steam, there is a probation time.. its a week first time, and 3 days second time... after that is instant... BUT, anything you buyed during probation is bound to account FOREVER!... you have to wait the probation ends to use your zen to buy keys and stuff that you want to sell on the Exchange, it happened to me, thats why i tell you this!, it even says so on the game the moment you try to buy keys.

Unless you are buying the Steam STO pack. I have heard that the Steamrunner is a nice ship even if it is a T5.
