Cardassian/Dominion/Borg Faction is possible - Borticus

So I was listening to the Tribbles in ecstasy postcast last night. Cryptic system designer Jeremy "Borticus" was asked if we could get a new Cardassian/Dominion/Borg Faction. His response: 'anything is possible'

Now I like Borticus, he is fair and engaging. He is actually willing to listen to the players based on the last few system changes.

I would have taken the exchange as just putting a 'anything possible' caveat out there, if not for the next bit. Forgive me, I don't have transcripts so I will have to paraphrase.

Borticus - "but it would have to be an expansion, and that takes time. You know our timetables for expansions"

Quickly followed by Tribbles podcaster:
"yeah like 2 years to wait"

What was said next by Borticus gives me hope for a upcoming Faction

To the last reply of 2 year wait he replied:
"maybe not"

So interesting. There is "possibly" hope in the near future for one of those factions.
