I know details are sparse at the moment, but I'm hoping to get as much information as possible here...
I haven't played STO (through boredom) since sometime before June; that at least is when I last signed in to give all my stuff to my fleet, though I stopped playing long before that. Anyway, STO as we all know is coming to the console system sometime next year, and depending on how well it's handled, I may return for casual play; I can't return to the PC game cause the system I was running it on has long since fell apart.
What I/we do know is that characters and equipment are not transferable to the consoles. However, I did hear yesterday (a rumour) that accounts will be, so any ship that's been purchased through the c-store, and any lifetime memberships remain intact. Can anyone verify this? Would be a huge advantage if it's true, though I don't like to put too much faith in rumour.
Thanks!

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
where did you see this information I have not seen a release date anywhere yet
Priority One tweeted it that it's 9/6 and someone in the UK tweeted 9/7 which might be a midnight release for him.
I don't think that would be the case at all. If characters cannot be transferred, then I am pretty sure the rest of that stuff won't transfer for a couple of reasons:
1) There's no way for the console to detect if you've bought something on the PC version since they don't talk to each other.
2) Steven Ricossa already kinda confirmed that it's supposed to be a fresh start. Even if you could say get a ship that you bought on PC flagged as being owned on the console, your build would probably remain incomplete because if you had the fleet tactical consoles on PC, they won't be coming till a later update for consoles.
We know that essentially a few things will be present when the consoles launch:
1) Story will be at least covering the Delta Quadrant and maybe Future proof.
2) Upgrading is going to be there, but very limited to what you can buy as far as tech upgrades.
3) Reputations will be present for endgame gear.
4) Specializations will most likely be in since T6 ships are in and the revamped skill system resembles the specialization system, so its easy to pick up. You'll just be limited as to what you can get for boffs.
I get the concept of a fresh start, but I don't think it's fair to expect lifetime members to sign up for a second lifetime membership; I guess that's my main concern here. If these accounts can be linked through email, then their system should be able to figure out which account(s) have the LTS attached to it, and which don't.
In addition to the actual purchases I've made for my PC account, I am also a LTS, and it would be nice if that carried over. I wont be buying it again, and it shouldn't hurt Cryptic by allowing the connection. I dread to think how much I've spent on the game, and I literally don't have access to the PC version any more. Short of buying a new desktop PC (of which I don't have the funds for), I'm limited to the PS4. Would have been nice (from them) to attach existing LTS memberships as a thank you for sticking with / returning feature.
I can appreciate they're not allowing character ports, especially if they want the fresh start, but enabling unlocked purchases doesn't take away from a fresh start. People still have to rank up to the appropriate level before they can use most of the items anyway, so it's not going to be taking level progression and gameplay out of the game.
