Do you think the Gorn species could ever be playable under the Federation faction?

I love my hideous lizard-man captain but I also love the Federation ship designs far more than the Klingon/Gorn designs. I'd love a Gorn captain of a Federation vessel, do you think that's do-able?

    There is the fact that you can get one from duty officer diplomacy(was that T3 or 4?), what should be done with that/your idea is for it to be possible to give them Fed uniforms.

    Nope Gorn are pretty happy in the KDF flying cool ships, let them stay there and off the dinner plates the Federation provides. Seriously is there anything at all the KDF have that the Federation players don't covet?

    This is one of those confusing things about STO as a fan mostly of the original series and the game Star Fleet Battles.

    There the Gorn and Federation were allies, since the whole incident where Kirk and the Gorn fought was something of a misunderstanding over whose territory it was

    Weird to see them buddies with the Klingons. Then again, I thought the Star Trek movies made the Klingons and Federation friends

    They were subjugated by the Klingons, though the Empire will tell you they Liberated them.

    There was once talk about a way to promote a bridge office to a playable captain. This would have allowed playable Gorn on Fed side and Human on Klingon side. Sadly, this was shelved indefinitely for whatever reason.
