T6 Connie LOVE it or DON'T care for it?

starcruiser#3423 starcruiser Member Posts: 1,267 Arc User
I LOVE to see how many people actually care for this T6 Connie or NOT.

I'm happy for those who actually waited for this ship to come out and hope works out for you all. However, not sure the others who actually might not care about canon stuff from the original series. Old vs new say you? If you care or not explain your point and educate the ones who might see this as a meh...moment?

If it's going to be sell-able on the exchange and prices aren't too unreasonable, I may get one for my AoY character,...

I like the ship. It's not my favorite Enterprise but, I like it enough. Not enough to spend what it's going to cost though. If it has been a cstore ship with a decent bridge and console layout I probably would have picked it up.

Depends on the stats. I'm a TOS fan but I'm not delusional enough to spend $$$ on promo packs trying to get one, and I spent most of my EC on gear recently so I probably won't be getting one off the exchange unless it's got the perfect boff/console layout for me.

Was never a big fan of the TOS Connie. It's inferior to the Kelvin Timeline Connie, and Shatner wasn't half the Kirk that Chris Pine is.

That being said, I know there is a vocal minority of STO players who wanted the TOS Connie at the endgame, so I'm happy that they're getting what they want.

MEh, Pine Kirk was just a some jerk imo.

Anyhow, Love to see T6 connie, NOT happy of the way it's being given.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Don't really care. Just another example of Cryptic taking the power creep that little bit further into stupid land.

Boff seating is appealing (probably way overpowered). Turn radius and weapon layout is nice. I won't be getting one, of course. Shameless cash grabs don't usually get my money. If it could use the Tier 2 cruiser skins, though, it might merit consideration.

I'm pleased that some actually got what they were asking for. At least is shows Cryptic cares.

IMO I'm not going to buy or spend time on it. The older players might spend a fortune perhaps due to nostalgic reasons. I will be saving up for the next big thing coming around the corner.

Other: Cryptic does not make this game only for me to play, though this announcement has made blood pressure boil, white fluid to fill the pants of others, I am going to keep on truckin and maybe open a couple of packs just for fun.

It can use the T2 skin, it is stated in the blog. Curious though how is a business trying to make money, which is its sole purpose for existence, in any way shameless?

I didn't see that on the blog. Nice. Shameless cash grabs are an essential part of making money with video games, it's how they operate. They put an incentive (aka bait) out there expecting people to pay out the wazoo for it and it works, every time. It's a term of endearment, really.

I only wanted a T6 K't'inga. Since it's locked behind an R&D pack, I will not be spending money for the CHANCE to get one. If it's available on the exchange... maybe I can get one.

Was hoping it would have been in the C-Store, so it could be unlocked on all my KDF-side characters.

^ This. I really like that they're making a proper T6 TOS Connie, but I'm not going to be spending any money for the slim chance of getting one. It just seems like a big waste of money to me. I'd rather just save up for it and buy it off the exchange.

If ever there was a ship that's gonna appear on the exchange for only seconds at a time, this it is. You could sell one in chat for 1.2 billion EASILY.

Stronger negative options should have been available.

Though honestly, I've never much cared for ships obtained by gamble mechanics.
Two T6 Connies in short order seems a bit desperate to me...

I'll open a few packs for the mats, and if I win one huzzah; 10 bucks worth of packs and that is it. I'm happy with my JJ Connie...she is a beauty!

I had given up on this game and hadn't logged in after they announced a TOS Expansion without a T6 Connie.

This will bring me back. Wish it wasn't just a limited R&D Pack, but I'll take what I can get. The T6 D7 and Romulan warbird are icing on the cake, icing that I likely won't be able to afford. Sigh.

Neutral, I have never really liked the TOS Connie.

I love TOS, it's my favorite Star Trek series, but I have always found the ship kinda silly looking. My favorite Enterprises are the 1701-B and the 1701-E, the rest are just kinda Meh to me. I love the shows, but the ships don't do much for me.

I will say though that while I'll never fault Cryptic for trying to make money (they're a business, not a charity) I don't care for the way the TOS Connie was implemented. I think they could have made a perfectly reasonable sum of money putting it in the C-Store instead of locking it behind a very steep pay wall. It doesn't effect me because I don't want the ship, but I still don't really care for the way this was handled. It's even worse when you consider that they released the Kelvin Version first to get maximum money from people who thought that was the closest they would ever get to a T6 Connie. Then they later release the ship that people wanted all along, give it ridiculous stats (5/3 layout, ideal console setup and 3 Lt. Commander Stations on a 150 year old ship?) and put it behind a pay wall.

Even though it doesn't effect me directly, it still feels like a slap in the face to those that wanted the ship. I'm quite disappointed in Cryptic and they way they have opted to handle this situation.
    Insert witty signature line here.

I was fine with the Connie being a T1 ship. It is a hundreds-of-years-old design and a fraction of the mass of the newer ships. Just the mass of it should make it less capable vs an Odyssey or Galaxy. Frigates can't mount 16" guns like WWII battleships could, for example.

The fact now we'll have these tiny little cruisers flying around end game content makes me *sigh*
And also that they gave it a dreadnought/battle-cruiser weapon layout is just silly, imo.

Somewhere in between "Luv it!" and "meh." I like it, and If I somehow get one that would be a very pleasant surprise, but I refuse to obsess over it, one way or the other.

Of course, right now and for the next few weeks half the forum topics and half the talk in chat channels would be about TOS T6s, so it's easier said than done.
