Klingon ships and holodecks

We know Federation ships have them, well, anyway, some Federation ships have them on board. Would the Klingons have holodecks on board their better ships?

Well, I have only seen that Klingons enjoy using holodeck programs on the TV shows (like at Quark's).

But since the shows are so Fed-centric....was there a show where they had more than "bridge" time on a KDF ship?

I would assume it would be useful for training and meditating and entertainment...Klingons would have it on board.

Every reference to luxury on a KDF ship was that it was unneeded and detriental to life on a military vessel. Hardship was there to temper the warrior spirit and keep everybody ready for the realities of war at all times. As such no holodecks or cushions, mattresses, toothbrushes, pillows or curtains.

The KDF tutorial has you doing target practice on the holodeck of a BoP. It is realistic to think that at least their bigger ships would have them in-game. Canon-wise, I would agree with the above poster that they probably would not have them at all as they would essentially be seen as a recreational item.

Does this come from a particular episode of the TV show? I vaguely remember one where there was an Officer Exchange between Starfleet and Klingons. Cmdr Will Riker was stationed on a BoP, for a time. I shall have to look this up on Wiki and watch it if I still have access to Star Trek shows.

I can see stripped down accommodations in a smaller ship...patrol and scout type ships should be big guns, fast moving with a small crew, for the most part. Hit and run.

Now, a ship used for diplomatic travels, long term "deployment", for a command base, or has a huge multi-shifts of crew....I am not so sure it would be stripped bare of non-essentials. Considering, mental and physical well being of your crew would be important to being ready for battle.

I am sure it will have heavy armaments, either way.

There is actually mention of holodecks onboard Klingon ships in canon; They possessed the technology long before the Federation. In Enterprise, "Unexpected" a Klingon Captain agrees not to destroy a Xyrillian ship if they install a holographic device on his cruiser (the episode Trip got knocked up in). I like to think Klingon engineering would have adapted cloaking tech from their experimentation with the technology rather than consorting with Romulans. Holodecks featured on Federation ships typically offer recreational space for their crews in relative safety. While many Klingon ships are small enough such a space would be impractical I could see uses on larger ships.

It might be difficult to convince most Klingons that they might learn from imaginary battle but if the holodeck had no safeties and Klingons could be killed during training I think it could be sold as a more worthy pursuit than mulling around the ship while off watch. I think the klingon appreciation for art, culture and recreation is being underestimated in stating that Klingons wouldn't like it. On a long voyage why not go hunting on the Ketha plains or watch a historic Opera?
