Greetings, warriors of the Klingon Empire.

For months now, from the time our two peoples have signed the accords, I have lived among you, studying your culture, your ships, and your history. I've even participated in challenges where some of your warriors fought me in hand-to-hand combat, honorably but regrettably meeting their ends. And I've got to say, I am impressed. It's nice to be able to stare in awe at some of your ships without them trying to blow holes in mine.

Out of all your ships, I am mostly impressed with the B'rel. And when I looked in your records, I found this, the K'vort-class Bird of Prey.

latest?cb=20070925015127

And it got me thinking about how it should be designed.

Faction: Klingon ONLY
Availability: Event
Tier: 6
Required Rank: Rear Admiral
Hull Strength: 1.52 (45,600 at level 40, 52,440 at level 50 and 60,800 at level 60)
Shield Modifier: 1.15
Fore Weapons: 5(4*)
Aft Weapons: 3
Device Slots: 4
Bridge Officer Stations: 2 Commander Universal, 1 LT. Commander Universal/Temporal, 1 Lieutenant Universal/Temporal, 1 Lt. Universal
Console Modifications: 4 Tactical, 5 Engineering, 2 Science
Base Turn Rate: 7
Impulse Modifier: 0.18
Inertia: 40
+15 to Weapon Power and +5 to Engine Power
Battle Cloak
Console – Universal – Wing Elevation Settings
(5 weapon slots, but one is fused in place, the Narendra Timeline Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons, see below)
Can Load Dual Heavy Cannons
Raider flanking (With 5 forward, this may be stretching it a bit, I think.)

Narendra Timeline Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons (fused)
When the Enterprise-C disappeared in a temporal rift, she emerged in a timeline where the Klingon Empire and the Federation were at war. When she eventually returned to her correct time, Romulan sensors detected that her hull was damaged with disruptors like ours of this timeline, but these were much more powerful, and with a much different signature than ours. The damage and signature was logged and stored for later reference before the Enterprise was eventually destroyed. Records were taken by our allies in the Romulan Republic from the old Romulan Star Empire and said allies have given the design of these weapons to us. The Romulans were looking to make these themselves, but with their inclusion in the Dominion War Alliance as well as the loss of their homeworld, these designs never saw the light of day. Until now.

These dual heavy cannons fire at a slower rate (much similar to the Kumari wing cannons) but do far more damage than conventional disruptor weapons and have a chance to damage all shield facings on a target, as well as an innate Accuracy and Crit Severity modifier built in.

Console - Universal - Wing Elevation Settings
Since the introduction of the B'rel-class Bird of Prey, the bird-like wings of these vessels have had the capability to raise and lower themselves, providing additional speed and maneuverability when raised, and additional weapon power and bonus to weapon damage when lowered. Equipping this console to any raider-type Bird of Prey allows for manual raising or lowering of the wings, but doing so requires this console a short time to recharge. This console also provides a flat bonus to disruptor damage. As a default, the wings are raised in Sector Space, and will only lower if you toggle this console.
Wings lowered: +10 Weapon Power, bonus to energy and torpedo weapon damage
Wings raised: +10 Engine Power, Bonus to Sector Space travel

**********NOTE**********
While I do realize the KDF have better ship selection in the Mogh and other ships, I wanted to make a Bird of Prey-like vessel with the capabilities and sturdiness of a battlecruiser, one that could easily take on the Andromeda and Yamato-class vessels of the Federation if the Klingons and the Federation ever went at each others' throats again. However, while it is a Bird of Prey, it is much larger, which is why the turn rate is lower than other birds of prey. I wanted to make a ship that bridges the gap of all the Klingon ships, allowing for a hybrid of battlecruiser, heavy cruiser, raptor and bird of prey.

With the accusations of the Federation stealing the goodies of the Klingon Empire (and yes we did, but you can blame the Romulans for the cloaking), I thought it time that a Starfleet officer gave something back to the Empire.

Dreadnought class. Two times the size, three times the speed. Advanced weaponry. Modified for a minimal crew. Unlike most Federation vessels, it's built solely for combat.

    This is confusing ship here.

Raider flanking, universal seating, and more than 6 weapons? Plus that turn rate and, yikes, 5 Engineering consoles (????) ......I don't think you can "combine" things this way and have it viable.

    It would be weird.

The turn rate you list, 7, would make this an undesirable ship to command. I would put the K'Vort more around the K'tinga or the Fleet Heavy Destroyer, 11-13 range. I think it's a large BoP configuration. A BoP can turn on a dime. Being that this is a large one, its turn rate would be greatly reduced, but not crippled to the point of it turning like a carrier. It would probably have a 5:2 weapon layout fore and aft. Hull would not be as durable as a Tor'khat or Vor'cha but perhaps on par with a T5-U Fleet K'tinga or the Fleet Destroyer.

And if Cryptic made this ship, every Klingon player would want it. And...it's canon!

I'm thinking it would also have a little less flexibility than a standard BoP as well. Not a full universal suite. It also wouldn't have a commander hybrid unless it's that type of ship. I'm thinking LtC Intel, Lt Temp (or even LtC Intel, LtC Temp) And considering it is a midpoint between the BoP line and a cruiser, perhaps give it something similar to what the Veteran ships or he DSDs have: switch between more of a cruiser build (with a couple of the cruiser commands, maybe increase it's shield mod in this mode) and a heavy BoP build (flanking, but squishier).

I like the idea. Drop the battle cloak though. That is the romulan hit an run tactic. In the show, there was only ever 1 BoP style with a Battle Cloak, and it was used to toy with the Federation. It would be a dishonor for a Klingon designed shipt o employ such a tactic as a standard. I did 1 degien for the KDf that had a battle cloak, that one was the Nausican one, pilot. Think of it at a lion stalking its prey. Once that initial jump from stealth happens, it's honorable combat. It was even show thus in the Kelvin timeline. When they went after Khan. The BoP's decloaked, landed to talk, the klingon took off his helmet, and it was honorable from there.

Remember honor dictates that one stand and fight, not run and hide. Battle cloak allows for the latter and is generally seen as a dishonorable move for a klingon to use.

I'd do this like the dyson. Give it an support mode and a tactical mode. This would be determined by wing position. As far as setup. I wouldn't go Temporal at all. Any real klingon would not use it. Time travel is the ultimate cowardice to a klingon. Though putting in an Com, Intel or Pilot would be good. If dual hybrid seating is there. Then Perhaps Com/Pilot, Com/Intel, or Intel/Pilot.

You see klingons in Future Proof and Yesterday's War once. Once at the conference and once with the sphere builders. The ones with the builder's were tricked and lied to to get their help. Even then they aren't time traveling. One is just there as an insult(Future Proof). The one with the builder you never see again, because you kill them for their stupidity in helping the builders.

Which is why this whole Temporal Agent thing irritates me. It is something that a Klingon or anyone that holds to that part of klingon honor would not touch.

Two ways I would be ecstatic about this:

    1. Science Vessel

    A Klingon science vessel.

    Able to load cannons.

    Weapons- 4 fore 2 aft

    Consoles- 2 ENG 5 SCI 4 TAC

    Sensor Analysis/Subsystem Targetting

BOFF layout- Cmdr SCI/Intel, LtCmdr TAC, LtCmdr ENG, Lt Uni/Intel (Temporal would be acceptable instead of Intel)

    Cloak!

    or

    2. A Raptor/BoP hybrid

    Able to load cannons.

    Weapons- 5 fore, 2 aft

    Consoles- 3 ENG 3 SCI 5 TAC

BOFF layout- Cmdr TAC/Intel, LtCmdr ENG, LtCmdr Uni, Lt Uni/Intel (if not Intel, Pilot w/pilot maneuvers)

    Battle Cloak.

...Just another generic Battlecruiser or Raptor would be disappointing.

Very good points. I just thought from the ship's large size and the fact it didn't turn very fast vs the Narendra Timeline's Enterprise in "Yesterday's Enterprise", I assumed 7 was good. But... If it was 11.. and dropped the battle cloak, I would not mind facing it in battle.

Er, battle exercises of course. The Empire needs as many warriors as they can get. I have a feeling there's worst things than Terrans, Na'kuhl and time itself out there.
It has been a long time since we heard anything from or about the Fek'ihri..

Extending my idea about the ability to change roles, as well as Patrick's backstory in regards to it being a stopgap ship, make the conversion be a true multi-role ship. Give it a universal commander slot and something along the following conversion:

    Raider: raider flanking, battle cloak
Cruiser: cruiser commands, +shield mod (or plus all resistance)
Science: Sensor Analysis, Target Subsystems (cannon and beam)

I have some ships I put together a while back in the Syndicate Science Support Vessel - 2 pack thread. Feeel free to hope down there and go over them and offer suggestions there.

I think the size differences are really just production inconsisentcies and have no in-world representation, and all the different names given to the very same model just represent different refit states of the ship. There is probably one were they removed the wing actuators to put in extra crew quarters or extra sensor systems or space for the next generation of Disruptor Cannons (and a few years later, they miniaturized the needed component size again and could put in the actuators again in the next refit). It just doesn't make sense to me that the Klingons would build identical looking ships at multiple sizes.

Of course, we could just say that these ships should have had different models and Cryptic would put up a ship named Tier 6 K'Vort that resembles the overall shape of the Bird of Prey but has some notable differences that make it feel like a unique model.

If anything, the roles we're missing in the Tier 6 lineup for KLingons are Carrier and Science Vessel.
I think the Carrier should be a Tier 6 Vo'Quv variant, obviously, so let it be a Science Vessel.

Because it's Klingon it can break some standard SV rules IMO. Also, it can't hurt it Cryptic makes the KDF ships a bit unique and maybe even more powerful than the Fed ships, since no one cares about PvP anymore (except everyone in my fleet?), and better stats might increase the sales to more acceptable levels.

    Tactical Science Vessel
    • Weapons: 4 Front, 2 Aft, can carry dual (heavy) cannons.
    • Consoles: 5 Science, 2 Engineering, 3 Tactical (4 Fleet Variant)
    • Bridge Officer Slots: Commander Science, Lt.Cmd Universal|Pilot, Lt.Cmdr Tactical, Lt. Engineering, Ensign Universal
    • Device Slots: 2 (we pretend a device less than a typical Science Vessel can compensate 4/2 weapons)
    • Turn Rate: 16
    • Impulse Modifier: 0.17
    • Bonus Power: +5 Engines, +15 Auxiliary
    • Special Abilities: Subsystem Targeting, Sensor Analysis, Cloak; Secondary Deflector
    • Shield Modifier: 1.2
    • Hull: 36,000 at Level 60
    • Special Console - Synthetic Nucleogenic Injector: Passive: +15 % Sector Space Speed and +5 to max engine power. Active: Increase the maximum of all power levels by +10, and grant +100 flight speed strength for 15 seconds. Cooldown: 2 minutes
    • Starship Mastery Trait - Synthetic Nucleogenic Yield: After activating Emergency Power to Engines, Auxiliary to Dampeners or any pilot bridge officer power, you gain +30 % damage bonus with torpedoes and mines for 15 seconds. This effect can occur no more than once every 2 minutes.

Bundle it in a cross-faction pack together with a Tier 6 Nova (that's where I got the console idea) and a Tier 6 Dhelan perhaps.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
