Completely confused on becoming a temporal agent....

How do you do this? Do you have to make a 23c character? Who do you have to see? At what level? Where are they located? How do you progress.

This has been made about as clear as oil from any official or unofficial source I've seen.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

    #1 - Created a 23c captain - Fed only.
#2 - Play the 6 tutorial missions that takes place in the 23rd century. It start immediately after your new captain is created.
#3 - Complete the last mission, The Battle of Caleb IV, in order to be propelled into the 25th century. Note: It is a scripted mission that you are supposed to "fail".
#4 - After the cut scene with Daniels you should receive a Temporal Transponder in your inventory. Do not throw it away, it allows you to do the temporal agent objectives that in turn gives your AoY captain some bonus items and eventually a few account wide awards.
#5 - The Temporal Agent Event lasts 6 weeks. That means you must get to the 25th century before August 17th (though some say it's August 24th). Any other 23rd century captains created after the event ends will just be "normal" captains and will not receive the Temporal Transponder from Daniels.

Some things to be aware of.

A - You can only visit 23rd century Earth Spacedock (ESD) while you are in the 23rd century. Once you complete The Battle of Caleb IV you are propelled into the 25th century and you will stay there.
B - While you may repeat 5 of tutorial missions, you cannot use them to go back to the 23rd century ESD once you have complete the above mentioned tutorial mission.
C - Boffs and Boff training manuals purchased from 23rd ESD are bound to character. The Boffs are all common quality.
D - You can transfer EC and items to your 23rd century AoY captain by using the option to go to your ship's interior or your shuttlecraft's interior. I prefer the shuttlecraft since you appear right next to the console to access your bank inventory. You must have an Account Bank to transfer items and EC to your AoY captain.
E - The only things different about 23rd / 25th training manuals are the sound and visual effects. Training manual are basic ensign level.

Unless the recent patch changed it that's not correct I went to 25rd ESD and back again to 23rd. All I did was replay a mission then warp out and I ended up back in 23rd space. Then again The Battle of Caleb IV was the 2nd mission I did. I know for sure if you skip a mission you can go back as I couldn't do one of the missions due to a bug.

^ It's the case that once you've completed the TOS mission set, gone to the 25th C, and gotten your Temporal Whatsit that you can't get back to 23rd C ESD. You've apparently found a case where skipping things allows a way around it until you finish up.

Is that intended or is that a bug caused by the patch?

It does not make a difference to me anymore. I got my AoY up to max level and I am grinding the reputation missions now. Though I need to get back on the horse and continue on with the Solanae Dyson Sphere story arc. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

It does seem that way. As long as you skip one of the starter missions you can do Battle of Caleb IV get your Temporal Whatsit go to 25th ESD and back to 23rd ESD as much as you like.

Apparently the plan at some point was for that starbase that gets sucked into the vortex is suppose to come out in the 25th century and you go there to get the 23c stuff. Either they decided to not do that, even though it's visible in sector space or they are waiting for a future event to open it up.

My guess is that it may be for some future event/featured episode, and we are about due for one. I'm thinking we might expect something early September since that's officially when Star Trek turns 50.
