They could so make yorktown station

If they can make Dyson Sphere with its super large ship maps with lots of structures and random sci fi knick knacks and two command centres social zones and a large ground combat map with 3 areas than they could so make yorktown station at some point.

I have plenty of gripes with the game, and think Cryptic is below par in certain areas of game development, but their artists have shown me time and time again they're made of the right stuff, and could faithfully recreate Yorktown Station if given the task.

Yes they very much could, probably won't though since from what we have been told their new deal with Paramount only gives them access to stuff from ST09 & STID.

I think an army of Benjamin Franklins could convince Paramount to make a new new deal.

No the deal was they couldn't put anything in that hasn't been released yet for spoiler reasons. That doesn't mean they can't put things in from this movie at some point.

I would love to see Yorktown station. a certain new ship and whatever race Jaylah is all added to the game. Plus some of the new races.

I regret to report that @artan42 @galatt and myself built a marmite factory on Starbase Yorktown. I was forced to kick artan out of the team once I discovered he had been taking free samples.

Then to my horror I discover that Artan made a ring which one mixed with the 'marmite' substance causes a chain reaction in the marmite molecules ... and in short.

Dyson sphere was great yeah art team did a FANTASTIC job (albeit ai am willing to bet some ec they were playing ALOT of Mass Effect when they designed that whole expansion...).. Yorktown would be cool i did find it a little over the top though even for the movie (even though it did look really cool I think the director was playing.. a lot of..Mass.. Ef..HEY theres a pattern here..).

Navigate your ship through an intricate path of tunnels to get to dock though idk.. Engineering would have made the shipyard much more accessible. Just imagine the dorsal thrusters accidentally misfiring under that lake during docking procedures i can see the headlines now... "wires shorting out on the Enterprise today caused misfiring thrusters to push the ship into the local childrens hospital, causing a total loss".

I agree that STO during that time was influenced by Mass Effect 2. The whole LoR reminds me a lot of ME2, but that being said, the dyson sphere? That looks as though it was almost entirely drawn from Larry Niven's Ringworld series. The floating cities, the fallen civilizations... The only thing that makes me sad about the Dyson Sphere is that there isn't more of it.

They also could keep STO fully canon, but choose not too.

STO isn't canon at all. It uses canon ships, races, planets, stations, and the like, but the entire storyline is "soft-canon." All well and good until a new tv show or movie contradicts it.
