This isn't nothing new really. And if your unhappy with how it is now, you'll probably be unhappy moving forward so best to play other games and expand your horizons to help reduce your boredom.

Also, nobody is charging 50 bucks for a shirt, exvept of course Wal- Mart, K- Mart, etc.

Wal-Mart doesn't have shirts over 40 bucks as far as I'm aware.

I hope your not talking about me, unhappy?, nah, bored?, nope, if you weren't referencing me forget i said anything.

    I wont be going anywhere.

Actually since I pay attention to the publicly avalailable corporate profit statements I know auite a bit more about the health of the game than you do.

Also yes Wal- Mart does have shirts for 50, not huge numbers of them, but they do exist, especially in the Disney merchandise.

    Ahh, those "experts", i see.

No game can deliver 365 new story episodes a year for you. Life's like that. No television show does either. Of course you could always play Foundry content.
I think I would have preferred the content spread out over time with longer missions than this so called expansion with a few short missions grouped together like it was a filler pack.

Not me, I prefer the Netflix model over network television. Let me play whatever new content is available at my own pace, don't keep it held back for weeks or months after it is ready because reasons.

And I'm saying your making a big fuss for absolutely no reason, these last 2 years have seen more new content than the entire life of the game before that all the way back to launch.

I know I pretty much am. But I think it's also kind of valid as well to criticize that it seems like they withheld adding new content for 3 months to make it look like AOY had more to it. ie Temporal Reckoning and Ragnarok

Absolutely, 100% agreed.. and thank you for saying it.

Look, STO isn't perfect, I have my share of complaints like anyone else, but lack of content is definitely not one of them.

Some people don't realize the difference in time it takes to design content as opposed to time to play it. That mission that you finish in 20 minutes might take 6 or more weeks to fully write, code, storyboard, link, bug check and implement into the game. Believe it or not, it's a lot of work.

I honestly think the STO Dev Team does a great job of continuously adding content to this game. When you step back and take a look back and you see how much this game has grown just in the last 2 years it really is quite amazing.
    Insert witty signature line here.

Stating that no new content has come out since AoY's release is false. Miner Instabilities dropped post-launch. It's not much, sure, but it's something, and its very existence renders OP's initial argument wrong and stupid.

I'd bet money we'll start seeing stuff once the Temporal Recruit event is over. Maybe not as soon as, but within two weeks something will get teased.

Ok seriously in order to believe the corporate profit statements are false you would have to believe every business and law enfircement agency, plus CBS & Paramount is dedicated to ripping off STO players, and that is just phenomenally dumb. Faking corporate profit statements is fraud and prosecutable.

    Seriously.

Where did this come from, who said corporate profit statements were false, who said anyone was ripping anyone off, who is dumb.

Who said faking corporate profit statements wasn't illegal, did i miss something.

Why defend actions that by your statements dont exist and aren't happening, why defend anything or anyone if no wrongdoing is going on.

I typed the word "experts" and this is what you got from it,? your telepathic.?

I get it, you think laws make everyone in bussiness as pure as the driven snow, ok.

TOS/EULA agreements published by gaming companies state they are liable for nothing, you are entitled to nothing.

How are any of them being taken to court for fraud and prosecuted with those agreements in place.

    Contradictions.

Not really an expansion, just a clever gimmick to get in new players and to sort of celebrate the 50th.

Yeah...It was not even the half a$$ expansion like the romulans or even the great fiasco of Delta Rising. This was a 1/10th of an expansion. Better off calling it just a "season" and a recruiting event monkey-2.gif

This really was not an expansion. Like the OP stated, was basically a few new missions and creating another Starfleet captain. I have already leveled mine to 60, just about maxed the reputations out and completed all the story arc's. In the end, I added another Starfleet character. We always get new ships, so that addition to the game is nothing new. Would like to see an entire new faction. Like the Romulan's, maybe something like a Cardassian faction and new story to go with it.

IMO - it was too small to be called "an Expansion" but was larger than the average "Season Update". Still the fact there was SO LITTLE content in the actual 23rd century era before getting pulled to the 25th century was VERY disappointing.

I warmed up to it "slightly" when i saw there were missions for already established characters, and awards as well.

This was not an expansion, but thats my opinion.

I'm not saying it's been 2 months silly. I'm saying it's very unlikely we'll see any new content this month.

Given they're going to STLV this month, I'd agree with you. That said, I'd HOPE they have something planned for 9/8 (a little over a month away) as that is the date in 1966 when 'Star Trek' was first aired on U.S. Network TV. But, we'll see.

Every post of yours I see every single day is a claim cryptic is lying, the game is dieing, etc etc. For those statements to be true then such public information as the corporate profit statements has to be false, its that simple.

As for the "purity" of business people, of course many of them are crooks, and eventually most of them get caught, but with all of the different parties that would have to be involved for this kind of fraud such activity would have most likely been caught by now.

If your going to try and bait someone into saying something pick someone you can handle, every post of mine doesn't say what your typing.

I especially like the game is dieing etc etc, line, revealing.

What you stated above is patently false, the only posts youve followed of mine approach the number youve seen in threads you grace us with your infinite wisdom, and corporate reports in.

Assumptions, contradictions, baiting, trying to put words in my mouth, none of that will work.

I also like it when people assume i care whatsoever what they think, and feel the need to pursue proof of it that doesn't exist.

    You entertain me, nothing more.

Oh and i do appreciate the second sentence in which you agree with me, and again contradict your own opinions.

By all means continue, i can shovel it as well as you can, until i get bored, and you no longer entertain me.

I would say they likely have got other stuff in the pipeline. There seems to have been some work on wrath of Khan era costumes and if you are celebrating 50 years of star Trek it isn't over yet

I don't mind seeing a lot of new missions at once. As it gets my 1st character going for a while. Then when its finished, I start on my other Mains and alts. Depending on where they are at. Going for missions where they release the reward per week. I just work on my other mains and alts, until its done completely. That way I can pick and choose my rewards which I do anyways. I don't do it over and over unless its something of interest.

    Same here.

I usually don't need the gear so I'm mostly playing new episodes for the story and I just choose one character that's the most logical option for me. So I will usually play a certain arc or story on, for example, my temporal researcher when there's time travel involved.

Other characters can play it at a later point if they could use some of the gear (or the fun-to-have-stuff like the special Tribble or the Bat'leth) but not before I've played it on the character that makes the most sense from a rp-perspective. And that works a lot better immersion-wise if the episodes are released all at once.

    huh?..........

I hear that Ranch dressing goes very well with stream-of-consciousness word salad.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

I nevet contradicted myself, nor did I ever agree with you, and while I will happily admit I don't waste my time following you around to read your posts every one if them I have seen is exactly what I said. You should try reality, its much more interesting than whatever oddball fantasy world you inhabit.

As i suspected, im bored now, guess ill go strike up a debate with the wife, shes actually a challenge.

Like I said in another thread, the devs just can't win.

While I see your point, i'm still going to say this year, in 2016, they won with me!

    ;)

I'm still very much engaged. I'm taking my time with the rerunning of the content on my AoY toon. I've not actually played a ton of those missions through in a good long time, as my previous few characters I levelled up to cap relying on DOFFing and Admiralty and PVE Queues jumping from toon to toon really quickly. Most storyline stuff I used the skip button for, and only played a handful of missions, specifically for their rewards.

So this AoY guy is my first in ages that's literally going from mission to mission in a dedicated pursuit of the story.

While also doing the stuff for the rewards. I'm in no particular hurry.

Yeah. I play eps for rewards, esp sets that I think that particular character can use.

I take my time with all my characters. I think I only have one or two who have actually done all of the story arcs through the Idiot War. Haven't taken them through the Timeline stuff yet though, taking some of the others (slowly) through their story arcs and only doing Yesterday stuff when it blocks progress. Like when I couldn't get into the Breen arc without doing Core of the Matter and the other one. The only time I skipped any missions was when I was after the Breen BOFF and was running out of time. But she's still going back to do those skipped missions too. For the cool Breen prizes.

Everyone does their game their way and that's fine. There is no right or wrong way to play this game.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D
