Vengeance has the power to disappear? (not cloak)

spacebaronlinespacebaronline Member Posts: 1,103 Arc User
So many times in battle in my Vengeance, I will disappear and then come back into the battle. It has even happen even while caught in the large tholian Web. I have reappeared outside the Web. Kind of like the rommie ship singularity jump. Is this working as intended? So feature of the ship? Some feature of the Temporal power skill tree?

You mentioned tholian webs, so I can only imagine you were teleported out of the web by a Tholian Tarantula.

The Temporal Power Specialization tree includes something like that in the final tree. If your hit points are reduced to 10 % or less, you teleport back 8km and gain a large heal. The teleport can be suppressed if you activate Threatening Stance.

And of course, the NPC Tholian Dreadnaughts also have a power that teleports their target in front of them (presumably so they can blast it with their superpower, but the timing often doesn't work), and that can teleport you outside a Tholian Web even.

OK that answers it I think. Although it happens in all battle situations, I have completed the Temporal skill tree. But when this thing happens, I am never down to 10% hull.

It's possible to be bugged, check the appropriate forum-section.

The only other thing I can think of here would possibly be the warp sig masking from its Intel ship capabilities- if you're not activating Cloak specifically, maybe it's blinking in an out?

I've personally never had it happen to me, so it's quite an interesting development to see.
It's not you- it's me. I just need my space.

Being critical doesn't take skill. Being constructively critical- which is providing alternative solutions or suggestions to a demonstrated problem, however, does.

Actually this just happened to me today in a Tholian Red alert - startled the heck out of me because I didn't just teleport... The camera moved and then my ship appeared to fly on to the screen very fast... I'm pretty sure my Temporal got-out-of-jail-free card was already on cooldown when it happened.

Yes nikeix this is what is happening Vengeance disappears from combat then returns very quickly. Also appears attacking ship loses a lock on me and I continue to strike when I reappear. Would be kind of cool in pvp if that still exists.

Because if there's one thing to make the pvp experience more enjoyable and to draw new players into matches, it's horribly unbalanced game mechanics that don't take player skill into account.

Whether it's OP isn't the question. The question is 'is it a bug?' and if not 'why isn't it documented?'

One of the weirdest things I noticed is I was firing the Mining laser at the time and the effect wasn't interrupted. The 'hop' doesn't seem to go very far.

    It's a bug.

It happens on any ship, with any kind of character. It started with the release of AOY and it seems to be getting worse. This bug pulls you out of the battle, then just puts you right back in. On the screen it looks like your ship just disappears and then it flies back in from the edge of the screen.

There is a thread about it in the bug section which you can view here. They're looking into it.
    Insert witty signature line here.

Is this when the ship disappears but then "warps in" to the same spot where it was? If that's it, it's not the Vengeance, it happens with pretty much any ship like seaofsorrows said.
