Firstly, just wanted to make a quick note, I know there's far more pressing matters to be attended to, but with the release of Kirk's Generation's vest the other day, I thought I might finally make this post. Also, please forgive me if I'm difficult to understand, I'm awful at explaining myself so made a couple of pictures to illustrate.
As a roleplayer first and foremost, the uniforms in this game offer such a great and diverse selection for players. I love it! And I fell in love with the official uniform scheme of 2410 as soon as PWE posted/updated it. I've always been a believer that Starfleet should really only have one uniform, and I'm glad they finally implemented that. Along with that, we got the release of the Odyssey dress and Odyssey Excursion uniforms... which again, I absolutely adore. I'm someone who has a number of variants of the standard uniform, for example, I make use of the undersweaters (and now the WOK turtle neck) for when my character is out of their standard duty tunic. However, one thing that has always caused me grief is the placement of outfits on male avatars. I'm specifically referring to the TNG Command Variant/Undershirt in this case and its length compared to the belt lines on female avatars.
With this costume piece females have a length that stops at their belt line. Males' however continue past the line, and in my opinion give an un-tucked scruffy appearance. This is perfectly fine, however my proposal is to simply add in an option, if even another variant itself, that gives players the freedom to choose that extra length. Perhaps simply, Undershirt-Short? Or something a little more specific. Even just an extra drop down made available for this uniform piece, and others in a similar situation that could be edited.
What originally spurred me to finally make this, was in fact, the recently (finally) released Generation's vest.
Again, on females the belt line is almost perfect - though with this, there is serious clipping as with the males. I understand this uniform isn't meant to have a belt with it, but as the option is there (again, on females the belt line pretty much matches) and it pretty much makes wearing any belt, stock and purchased, unwearable with it... which considering the per-character INSANE cost...
And finally, just as a little extra addition, I'd really love it if (in the instance you do ever create a vest/undershirt for the Odyssey uniform) you could again, model it to fit the belt line of both females and males. Especially as the Odyssey uniform operates around a clear belt line, it would be fairly jarring if there were to be similar issues.
Anyway! Thanks for reading this short little ... well, random post!
