Cryptic - Marks transfer between characters weekend!

spacebaronlinespacebaronline Member Posts: 1,103 Arc User
Have many older toons that have lots of marks and special item(probes/chips etc) that I would like to transfer to a new toon(s), or charaters I use more.. Who else would like a weekend like this? By having it just on a weekend it would avoid people trying to get around the timers every day. Content would still need to be played. It might even encourage people to play more content. I could convert it to dilithium, but I would rather spend it on gear. Uses up the marks rather then puts more dilithium into the market.

Interesting concept. I approve. I know of one toon has too much off of one and another needing that one.

But the game makes money as you grind, more time playing equates to more income for the game essentially. So the Devs would not approve.

Well it is only to be a weekend thing, not a regular thing, don't think it will have a big impact on numbers. If the Dev's also have a goal to reduce dilithium in the market, transferring them and spending the marks on Rep equipment is a good thing. Besides most of the older q's are pretty much dead anyways. They could even cap it at say 500 or 1000 marks per Rep.

Yeah, the queues being dead really prevents me from regularly get omega marks. So this concept would be awesome for it.

I don't see marks as a problem. I'd rather have the option of paying zen to instantly max out non-current reps.

You can get Omega marks from the Badlands BZ.

Right, give more reason for people to get things done too soon and complain about nothing to do and not having new content will go over oh so well.

OMG NO...I would be spending weeks and weeks with my OCD trying to even out all the numbers.

    No, don't see the need.

Temporal Recruits once they reach level 50 get a jump start of 250 of each mark to get started, they also get marks for finding probes. Marks aren't hard to obtain, I'm just not sure what would make this necessary.

On the latest Tribble notes, they have brought back the Na'hkul red alerts, it now pops in randomly with Borg and Tholian Red Alerts. The return of the Na'Khul alert basically makes obtaining rep marks insanely easy.

If you have surplus marks you can always turn them into dilithium, or buy stuff with them to vendorize for EC's.

The mark transfer exists as a sponsorship item within reputation.

You can only sponsor a new toon so that they get 2x speed in leveling the rep. that is not a mark transfer

I like the idea, but seriously doubt that it will ever happen.

It is better than a mark transfer. One character gives 100 marks and the the other character gets effectively 600 free Marks and half the time to level up the reputation. It requires 1225 Marks to get your first character to Tier 5 in a Reputation and succeeding characters only need 625 Marks to get them to Tier 5.

There's already queue killing events like Crystalline Cataclysm, The Breach, Mirror Universe Invasion, and Shuttle Weekend. There's no need for an event like this.

I don't really see the need except to finish the reps on new characters faster. There are other ways to get marks besides STFs and we get enough events that award all marks along with the double mark bonus once a day. All of my characters have plenty of marks. The only thing that slows down Rep progression is the cooldown.

No. Marks are not an issue. Get 100+ for daily alone, get enough marks in a week (with sponsorship) to fill up the reps.

Reputation items though, maybe (borg neural processor etc).

I would rather see the developers do away with elite marks OR at the very least make it so they do not take up space in my inventory.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It would be nice and I would support it, although I think it would be a better idea if they would just allow us to share gear (both reputation and fleet gear which can be quite expensive) between characters.

Then you could simply buy the piece of gear on your older character that has enough resources or can easily collect them, and send it to an alt. It's basically the same as what the OP is proposing, but instead of sharing the resources needed to buy the gear, why not allow us to share the gear itself?

This would also solve the problem of having old sets collecting dust on older characters while being in need of reputation gear on newer toons.

I have multiple characters that have 4 fleet spire consoles of at least 2 different energy types, so 8 in total, that I used in the past and that are now practically useless since I cannot transfer them to other toons.
Being able to create new gear for my new alts by sending some marks over would be nice, but it would still not solve the annoying situation of having very expensive gear readily available on older toons with no way of making it useful due to character binding limitations.

Are you sure about that? Only Temporal and Terran Marks are available from the Badlands BZ, but only from the conquering the various areas before the Space Stations show up. However, defeating the Space Stations only grants Terran Marks, Chroniton Buffers, and Terran Gravimetric Inducers, but no Temporal Marks. Of course, it is possible that in the last week, the Badlands BZ has granted Omega Marks since I haven't played Badlands BZ since the first week of AoY.

You can get Omega Marks from the Defera Adventure Zone.

Lucky for you there's a not so well know queue called "Infected: The Conduit."

If its not so well known then not a lot of people will be queue'd up to play.

Thats the problem with relying on team games to gather a mass of marks.
