...save the Fletcher. I popped all my heals on the Fletcher and turned on taunt...and the Fletcher keeps insisting on closing to point blank range and keeps getting caught by warp core explosions.

Warp core explosions are the most devastating thing that can happen in STO combat scenarios. How about turning it into a weapon. A guided missile with a warp core inside. It is of course a silly mechanic. Suppose you have WWII bomber crew, a B17 or a Lancaster. the bomber is fully loaded. Now you tell them, drop the bombs on your target and it will get destroyed, but if you really want to smack the whole area, crash your bomber into it.

On topic. Escort tasks. In any computer game I have played, if you have an escort/protection duty you have to do it on guys that are suicidial beyond imagination. You wonder what are you doing here in the first place if the only thing you want is die. Drown in your bath, electrocute yourself at home, whatever, but do not take command of a starship, eh?

if you have TBR you could use it to push the flaming wreck away from Fletcher.

Worst escort duty? Gateway to Grethor. Wave after wave of troop ships with captains who apparently can't pilot their ships in any direction other than a straight line directly into a fiery death?

It isn't hard to deal with, but if it wasn't part of the mission, I'd really want to say "F$@# 'em, they're getting what they deserve."

Couple of thoughts here.....

1] Spoiler space? Your doing it wrong, the forums has a mechanic to hide spoilers.

2] Ive played through all episodes, and, WTF is Fletcher? Is it a queue?

Fletcher is the name of one of the NPC ships you're supposed to save in "Second Wave"

Heh so I wasnt the only one rushing through the enemies to kill to save em all? Managed to get em all aggro'd on me and then POP goes the fletcher. Irritating as all hell.

yeah the accolade for saving all the ships is a pain to earn.
