'Operation Gamma' temporal probe

Having trouble finding the 'Operation Gamma' temporal probe guys, searched everywhere :(

Anyone else have this problem or let me know where they found it? i.e was it on the first map (with the beacon) or the map with the ferengi trader?

Appreciate the help, its the last one i need...

The objective showed the moment I left the worm hole, but I found the Temporal Probe on the map with the trader in the asteroid field. Finding it might be difficult, I happened to fly exactly over it on trying to get to my mission objective.

Pretty damn stupid putting it on a map this huge. I can't find it anywhere and I've looked EVERYWHERE!

They are not difficult to find. Requires patience however. If I cannot find one right off the bat, I press the <M> key. Once I am on the map, I move my cursor over each of the white dots. One of them will be the probe.

Found the problem. If you team with someone who's not an AoY character, the probe won't appear. So, it wasn't on the map at all. When my friend switched to an AoY toon and we restarted, found it quickly, albeit, it's really damn hard to see, it's so small.

I experienced the exact same thing earlier tonight. A friend wanted my help with the awful "worker bee" section in that mission, and then we couldn't find the probe. I switched to my AoY character on a hunch, and when we tried the mission again the probe was where the Reddit thread said it would be. This whole mess took two hours because the probe system is fragile and fails silently. It's not even consistent: if at least one person on the team is AoY, it'll show in the objectives list, but if at least one person on the team is not AoY, the actual probe will not appear.

The way I do it is wait till I see it appear on my objectives list and then look at my map for a white dot. It'll be there on one of them. I'm just beginning Facility 4028 and I've found most of them easily with just doing that

Operation Gamma actually had a twist. It showed on the mission track on the first map, but the probe is on the second map at the asteroids.

I found a great solution to the worker bees. The aceton assimilator melts them pretty quickly. I can actually disable all the sensors on the first try as long as I have it deployed.

It also melts the swarmers quite nicely too.

my favorite trick is to always turn and face center before hitting a sensor node. That way I can open fire immediately. Also PDS helps.

Everyone probably has their own favorite trick for those bees. They were very annoying before I acquired the AA and used it. If it got toasted by the JH then I'd deploy another, or just keep deploying as it cooled down. Kept my BP down a whole lot since I started using them. ;)

Well, once we had both team members being temporal agents, the probe was smack dab at the first asteroid to the right of the shield generator. But having a non-temporal agent on the team will remove the probe from the map, it seems.

I ran through it twice since i needed both parts of the JH space set. i did not see it the first time the second time it was down and right when you exit the asteriod the kranneck is in

I just ran it twice also (I normally do anyway for both pieces) but the first time couldn't find the Probe. Nothing showed up on the map. Second time it did, right near the generator you need to destroy to get to the Krasnak. It was to the East (right) of the generator further back along the Asteroid.

Of course it generated a Na'kuhl Agent who was no where to be found.

Had a Delta Flyer with a Phaser Omni and Kelvin Photon Torpedo. Used the PDS, an Automated Defense Battery, and the second time through tried eChatty's AA suggestion. Both times no resets at DS9 and the Swarmers melted much quicker with the AA.

I have been having problems with many of the Missions finding a Temporal Probe on the map at all.

Try the reddit location list posted above.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,572 Arc User
I have been using that but some of the Probes were in different locations than listed. As I said it was only a few of them and the little dot for the Probe was nowhere to be found.

Are you sure or is it just coincidence? Unlike the other space probes which are floating in space, the Operation Gamma probes that are found resting on the asteroids. So it gives credence to the probes falling to the bottom of the map theory. Ran the missions two times solo and couldn't find the probe which would make sense if I was looking around the asteroids and they were at the bottom of the map. Someone could team up with a non-Temporal Agent and not find it because it is at the bottom of the map while they could team up with a Temporal Agent and find it on one of the asteroids and come to the conclusion that non-Temporal Agents causes the probe to disappear.

I found it the second time. Operation Gamma was not an issue anymore. With the Reddit Guide some Probes are at new locations beyond those given. There were only a few Missions where it took me a while to find the Probe and those were Ground actions.

I have found it in all Missions I have played to date. Gamma was the only one I did not find it on first play-through but I was unconcerned as I was going to run it twice anyway. Cutting the Cord was the only other one that needed a second time, but that was because I forgot to look for it (at the end by the Iconian Asteroid Gateway) before I warped out.

I had an issue in Fac 4028. I had no idea where the probe was the first time and I looked for it.

Yeah... I did a run of Researcher Rescue with my Temporal Recruit teamed with a Delta recruit. We were able to find BOTH McGuffins.

This mission was the only Probe I had a hard time finding.

The Reddit locations are good in most cases, but on this map I'm pretty sure the location varies because people are finding them in all different spots. When I played, it put the probe right on the edge of an astroid, it was actually have in the wall and barely visable at all.

The only way I found it was typing '/target temproral probe' and then moving toward my targeted object.

The placing of the probe on this mission is awful, this one can be really hard to find.

I found it right next to one of the things I had to scan (as a Sci Captain).

Then someone had the worst day ever, as a Na'khul agent was dispatched to investigate my meddling...
