What's Your Gripe?

I have about three gripes I can think of right about now. If anybody has anything they can think of, feel free to comment. :)

First off: Damage resistance cap. Why, of all things, is there a cap on damage resistance, but not on crits? For the sake of balance, damage resistance needs the cap to be completely removed, or crits need a hard cap of +75% severity imposing. Since the game and fora will likely burn if the latter was chosen, I vote for the hard cap of damage resistance be removed.

Number two: Now that Antiproton is more or less readily available for anyone to get as soon as they can craft, I think the somewhat-archaic perk of additional crit severity needs to be replaced with something a little more in-dated, to bring it in line with all other energy types. As it stands, AP (and all variants of) is very much the outlier, since all other energy types have a "proc" of 2.5%. I don't know what it would be replaced with, apart from 0.25% additional critical chance (that doesn't stack with other sources of critical chance).

And finally: There seriously needs to be more content that doesn't involve insane amounts of D-pew-pew-S. A mission, or a queue, that actually requires you to have a tank or two to be able to complete it would be very nice. If the rewards were worthwhile, that might actually be something the min-maxers like as well as the non-DPS-non-tacs. Coming from somebody who mains an engineer, this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed - I don't want to be forced into a niche that is quite clearly not the forte of the class I've chosen, and yet that seems to be what's happened.

Power levels need another look in, since that used to be a little bit of ground where Engineers could stand quite comfortably; right now, all you need is a Leech console and/or the Supremacy trait from the Vaadwaur Astika in order to to effectively manage your power levels.

So, if anybody wants to add anything, feel free to do so. If I manage to think of anything else, I'll put it below.

    as for my gripes....

    day 6: still looking for aft hangar bay on my eternall class, also can't find tha factuall bridge, being forced to command a starship from axuiliary control room..... :P

    Because having 100% damage resistance would make you invulnerable.

    btw werent the resistances not exacly hardcapped but having diminihsing returns? like after certain treshold of resistance ratings pumping more was not giving much?

    I think crits are fine having a cap of 100% or 120%, but 200% crit severity is just wrong.

    My gripe? Don't really have one.

    Wait!

    Lobi uniforms. I don't like 'em. They're too expensive and character locked. That's my gripe.

    A re balance of ship classes to make all classes usefull again is in order. Devs need to quit pumping out half done content. More option. Ie ship fine tunning.

    3)To much pew pew to appease the needs of dps mongers who like to show off their epeen.

    4)This mmo should have been a sandbox game,but then again in these days that we live the mmo gaming crowd wants all content to be spoonfed to them like if they were 5 year olds.

    5)To many stupid whales spending real money to buy glorified mounts...hmm sorry meant ships,STOP buying them and playing into Cryptic's plan,the more you spend the longer it will take for this pew pew mmo to wither and die,sooner it dies the sooner we can get someone else to design a PROPER Star Trek mmo.

    Both of these were massively unpopular. And confusing for players. So based on player feedback the Devs did what we wanted them to do. They removed it and stitched it into the DOFF system. Exploration and Diplomacy are exclusively DOFF trees. Star Trek flavor!

    That's unlikely. With the TV show coming out, and the way MMOs have "evolved" over the years if this game were to die and go away, whatever comes next will likely not be an MMO. And will likely need more expensive licensing agreements in place because of the new TV show.

    my gripe is people that keep ramming down our throats the fact that they don't like the new movies in every topic about the kelvin timeline. they are part of star trek, there's nothing you can do to stop that, accept it and move on.
