23rd Century phasers?

As I level my new officer and obtain the next rank of ships for that era, is there any way to obtain the 23 century weapons to go with it? I have checked the vendors, but they are all 25th century red phasers. Just curious.

Doesn't the last mission of the 23rd century arc provide 23rd century phasers of the appropriate level? The T1 Connie also has them, in levelless form.

It provides one phaser array, yes. But after that, I see nothing.

Battle of Caleb IV gives a beam array, a dual cannon and a photon torp. A twin beam array can be acquired from the mission "Everything Old Is New." All are blue quality. Replay, replay, replay.

The DBB doesn't appear to be available on replay, it may be a once-per-toon item. They're tradeable, though. Haven't seen single cannons, DHCs or turrets at all.

Since they are now 'faction' weapons, they really should be added to the R&D system. Same with all the other 23c stuff.

You can buy at the store there on 23rd century ESD. I cleaned out the store just now in preparation for departure.

Anyone agree that the 23rd-c ground weapons should include a blast assault gun, or something else?

BFGs have no place in any decent franchise IMHO. No real military would actually use them, for a variety of reasons.

I wonder if they didn't give easy access to 23c phasers because they are going to be implementing Kelvin timeline gear in it's stead?

As has been noted, you can get all the dual beam phasers you want from episode replays of "Everything Old is New". I've been running a full set of classic phasers for a couple years now. They are a TRIBBLE to upgrade though.

Oh, they did change the phaser from Everything Old is New to a twin beam one. That's awesome!

I grabbed done KT ground weapons for one of my toons, but I find the slow rate of fire annoying aesthetically. It also showed me that boffs rarely fire their weapons.

I stocked up on 23c hand phasers and boffs before Caleb, but didn't have enough EC to buy a bunch of ship tech too. I really hope they put in some way to get hold of this stuff post-Caleb without having to count on occasional mission rewards.

Is the gear bound on pickup like the training manuals are?

Off topic a sec, Hey @evilmark444, you a Marine? If so Thanks for your service. (I know what the Tun Tavern is.)

Not anymore, but I used to be in the reserves. When they announced AoY someone made a thread asking about 4 digit registry numbers. I thought about what I could do with that, realized I could use a year, and suddenly some things I had to say a LOT in boot camp just popped into my head:

"Birthdate of the Marine Corps is Ten November, 1775, Sir!"

"Birthplace of the Maine Corps is Tun Tavern Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sir!"

The ground and space weapons in the 23c store are not bound, as they are of common quality. Once you gain in rarity, they act like anything else and become account bound on equip.

BTW: Never mind the weapons, what about the 23c engine/deflector/shield/core sets? I know they work as I described above, but is anyone else actually planning on using them on their 23c ships?

Well you can go and replay the 23c mission to grab those phasers, you can use the lvl-less ones from the T1-conni or you can replay "Everything old is New" as they are now Retro blue colored dual phasers that come in rare (blue) quality with [Crth] [Dmg] mods.

too bad that none of the options listed here [apart from vendor in 23c] allows ya to grab twin phaser beams.....

[and I'd really love to see dual twin phaser beam bank :P]

Ok, I swear I did this the other day and it worked as I just said, but I just upgraded a Phaser Rifle and it became Bound to Character, without equipping it at all. So, either I was crazy, or the rifle works differently than other things, or a little of both.

Type 2 phasers when upgraded through the upgrade system do become bound to the character upgrading them. Type 1 phasers however do not bind to character during the upgrade process.

    This sounds like a bug.
