PSA - Dont delete c-store claimed boxes

So in my excitement to get my new AoY chatacter up and running I claimed my account unlocked Phoenix admiralty card and then saw that the box can't be opened until level 52. Now I know the claim window says only one of this item can be claimed but in my head I was thinking that meant you can only own one of these items and that if I deleted it I could still claim a new one but of course that is wrong. After I deleted the box I realized my mistake but there is no way to retrieve or reclaim it since I never opened the box.

So, now my card is lost forever... don't make my mistake!

At least the character is only level 10, not a big deal to delete and do over!

This problem affects all the items from the 2016 First Contact giveaway.

• Duty Officer: Neal Falconer
• Phoenix Small Craft Admiralty Card
• Assimilated Assault Cruiser (T6) Admiralty Card

If you claimed one of the items above during the giveaway, a separate "reclaim" version would appear in the C-Store. During the promotion, both versions appeared in the C-Store at the same time. The regular version disappeared after the promotion ended, but the "reclaim" version remained. The problem is that you cannot reclaim the "reclaim" version.

I don't know why Cryptic decided to implement the 2016 First Contact giveaway this way. Previous giveaways did not have this problem. Claiming an item once would unlock it for all characters on the account to claim as many times as they wanted; there were no separate "reclaim" versions. For example, I can claim the "Polytrinic Acid Horta" and "The Future Flyer" as many times as I want.

The reclaim restriction on the 2016 First Contact items is unnecessary. I have an extra copy of the boxes due to the overflow bag bug. When I try to open the boxes, I receive the error message "You may only have one of a unique item." So all the reclaim restriction does is frustrate users who accidentally discard the boxes.

I almost made that same mistake in deleting the admiralty card ship since I wasn't high enough level to open it. Good thing I left it there eating a precious inventory slot as a 'just in case.'
