"T6" Vorgan ship is a joke` - The build edition

questeriusquesterius Member Posts: 8,484 Arc User
Could not resist with the now closed topic in mind.
Personally i feel the latest summer ship is pretty decent. Bulky for an escort and 5 tac console slots.

Share you builds here.

Edit: Haven't gotten around to getting my own build on skill planner, but this build looks hilarious

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Was also considering using it but kinda shied away because it only has 2 sci consoles. Me likes some serious space magic. :p

Off the top of my head I'd go with:

Nukara rep DBB, 3 tet DBBs
    Nukara mines, omni-tet, butterfly-omni-tet

    ico-engines, - defelctor, -shields, butterfly-core

    tac: 5 tet consoles
eng: the ship's console, nukara console, conductive RCS [resAll], leech
sci: particle field exciter [drain], butterfly-console

    As for boffs:
    TT1
    TT1, APB1, BFAW3, APO3
    ET1, Aux2Sif1, EptW3
    HE1, ST2, GW1
    TSS1, DRB/FBP (can't decide right now)

    edit:
forgot it has an intel seat :s , so here're the last two sci stations again:
    ST1, OSS2, GW1
    HE1, TSS2

front: hyper-dual refracting tetryon beam bank, tetryon beam array x3.
rear: web mines, antichroniton infused tetryon omni, tetryon omni.
    deflector: nukara
    engine: nukara
    warp core: temporal phase
    shield: nukara
engineering: sticky web, harassers, nukara particle converter, plasmonic leech
science: temporal disentanglement suite, plasma-generating weapon signature nullifier [epg]
    tactical: tetryon x 5

works pretty well, little more glass cannon-ish then I normally like but I can probably fix that when I get around to changing my traits.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Does the STO Academy require registration to even look at "builds" being shared, these days?

Or does it not work on Chrome?

Without even owning the Vorgon ship, or being in STO right now, I can probably list the build I'll be using because seriously, if you've flown one escort you've flown them all.

Iconian set for Impulse, Deflector, Warp Core, Shield - YAY, Radiant Subatomic Pulse enabled. Alternatively, you can probably use the Ancient Obelisk Warp core if you want the buff to Antiproton (while using the Obelisk Omnibeam Array). But I like Radiant Subatomic Pulse too much.

3 Dual Beam Banks of whatever your favorite color is. I personally think Antiproton will look nice with the escort. So, I'll be shooting red.

1 Neutronic Torpedo, 1 Advanced Radiant Quantum Torpedo

1 Advanced Radiant Antiproton Beam Array, 1 Antiproton Omnibeam Array

1 Crystalline Matrix Console, 1 Polymorphic Viral Probe Console, 1 Sustained Radiant Field Console - YAY Radiant Supercharge enabled, 1 Plasmonic Leech

1 Plasma console from the Romulan Embassy (I prefer partgens), 1 Exotic Particle Generator Field Exciter console.

5 vulnerability locator consoles of whatever color you like the most, in my case the ones that buff red damage.

    Boff loadout:

    TT1

KLW1, Torpedo Spread II, FAW III, APO III

EPtS1, Engineering Team II, SIF Collapse III

Science Team 1, Hazard Emitters II

And for the universal Lt Cmdr.? Uh... I don't know, maybe a science with more Exotic particle damage, sure why not.

Maybe an Engineer and I can phone it in with an Aux2Bat build. At this point it really doesn't matter.

First impressions of the T6 Vorgon Xyfius: It's squishy, but it can do damage with the right build. This ship can be a good PvE ship; however, it is an escort, so don't expect cruiser survivability. Unless you are willing to sacrifice DPS for additional hull resistance, this ship would not be ideal for PvP (assuming it still exists...lol)--at Ker'rat or anywhere else. That said, I find this ship to be an Engineer's Escort, especially since you have that Universal/Intel BOFF slot. My build reflects that. I chose to remain with Tetryon; it's one energy type that I rarely use, but when I do, I enjoy it.

The ship seems to deliver what the meta requires. OSS III and CSV III with DHCs and five tac consoles it deals a lot of damage, even without any other gear on it. It's fast and squishy, a solid escort/raptor choice. I personally don't like the looks and only got it because I only realized the Harasser Probes are not hangar items when I had 960 vouchers collected pig-2.gif

Are you thinking BFaW III with the DBBs, or CSV III with some DHCs?

The mastery trait for the Vorgon ship doesn't seem to be useful. Only a few mines are worth using in the game. The fact that only targets hit on the initial BFAW/CSV get 1 Chroniton mine...that could be shot down...isn't too appealing. There are better traits to slot unless your character is really lacking in starship traits.

Cannon scatter volley with dual beam banks? WAT?

I actually cannot remember having typed this, but I meant to say DHCs. BFAW probably works too or better but doesn't require a CMDR Tac pig-2.gif

I ran a quick test with a piercing tetryon DC build and this trait.
While it is situational, the mines can hit like a truck when spawned and with no shields.

Especially on tetryon or drain builds the trait can be quite useful. There are other, better and often expensive traits available but on budget builds it is quite useful.

I can definitely see this trait on a budget build. For my build, I felt Weapons Syngery System was slightly more effective than the Harasser Mines. I do agree that the mine could do some damage with downed shields. Regardless, I do think that everyone should at least get the trait if for no other reason than to have it as an option.

Not gonna list my build(s) cause I'm too lazy to go look them up, but .....

Just transferred everything directly over from my 1. Fleet Mogh, 2. Breen dreadthingy from the winter event 3. Oddy (T6) 4. Heavy escort carrier. Weapon types were AP, Phaser, and one mostly Tet rainbow. Only 2 of those toons had a Boff with Intel skills so Intel didn't really play a part in my "testing". On each of them I ran a Borg RA and Tholian RA, plus the Nak'hul RA on a couple.

Being quite fond of escorts, which means I have used them .... a lot ..... I found the new ship to be exactly what it should be, a heavy escort that handles like a heavy escort, survives like a heavy escort and deals damage like a heavy escort. As all of my ships were geared using the stuff I had on my freebie ships I couldn't really compare damage output to a full broadside. I levelled up using escorts/raptors so my aft weapons on everything is all turrets/omnis/kinetic beam.

Basically, it is a heavy escort, and when geared and flown as a heavy escort it is a quite capable little ship and for me, will remain in my active roster even after I finish getting the mastery to 5.

Tholian weapon set, Tholian space set, Hirogen weapon and console set, Temporal anticronaton tetryon weapon console set, normal tet omni, and the sticky web console and the one from the last CE event.

Basically just my Breen Tetryon build ported over.

I threw 7 single beam arrays on it. I decided to build it for speed and the wider arc of single beams accommodated that.

Used the Iconian Space Set and my usual set of consoles. Locators in the Tactical, Science were Embassy Consoles with DrainX.

For the Engineering Consoles I put my Conductive RCS [EPS] (pretty much just for the EPS), the Leech console, Bio Neural Infusion Circuits, and the Timeline Stabilizer since I went more 'Science Heavy' on the BoFF stations.

Bridge Officers, for my Commander Tac went with Kemocite 1, ATPB 1, BFAW 3, ATPO3. Ensign Tac was Tactical Team. Both SRO. I use one BoFF to reduce Tac Team cooldown and also Reciprocity Trait.

Engineer was Engineering Team 1 with 2 copies of Emergency Power to Weapons (2 and 3.) This is for maximum uptime to take advantage of the Arbiter Trait (Emergency Weapon Cycle.)

Lt Science - Hazard Emitters 1 and Science Team 2. For cleanse/debuffs and for Shield Heal

Lt Commander Uni/Intel - Science - Polarize Hull 1, OSS, Feedback Pulse 2. Polarize is to resist tractor beams, I'm using Improved Pedal to the Medal on this ship, so I like to keep moving at all times. OSS is obvious, and Feedback Pulse is to take advantage of the Trait from the Krenim Science ship.

Ship Traits: AHOD, Reciprocity, Improved Feedback Pulse, Improved Pedal to the Medal, Emergency Weapon Cycle.

Threw that together, set up my tray and my rotation and predictably melted everything in seconds without taking much damage at all. Keep at full impulse, fly around the screen as fast as possible, TRIBBLE everything off with BFAW and then hit the Feedback Pulse.

Fun, nasty little build. Obviously can't really touch my Pilot Escort or my Arbiter, but for a free ship.. I was pretty happy with it.
    Insert witty signature line here.

Love this ship for an escort it pretty damn tanky! Which it actually should be considering it's a "Heavy" escort. In navy terms I'd say it's more like a Destroyer Escort then anything else. Nice job Devs! Keep ships like this coming!

I found it to be more than adequate for current content. Slapped some tetryon DBB's on it and an assortment of torps and just flew it like I do all my science ships and it did fine. Only 2 sci spots but still enough console slots for loads of universals or sets.

I think it pretty good for a free ship.
