Certainly great for anything with battle cloak, I think. (assuming you use it )
Certainly interesting. Will also be very interesting to see how easy it will be to get from the Exchange - considering there a lot less KDF characters and apparently the lockbox rewards the ship based on faction with no choice box (that's at least according to a dev comment on reddit). Might become an expensive ship.
But certainly cool - a Raider with Pilot Maneuvers. It will be basically impossible to top that! (At least on the mechanics front.)
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Celebrating about a faction ship being in a lockbox? Red side really must be desperate at this point.
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
Actually, yes. The fact that this is a lockbox ship means that (1) it gets made and (2) there's a good chance that this thing will be suitably lethal - I'm hoping that Trendy's description of this as the "Klingon Bugship" is not just hype. Back around the time that DR dropped, I think it was Borticus who said they had no plans to do another faction-specific lockbox; well, not only did we get one, but the 3 ships are radically different.
We would *never* have seen a Raider with pilot maneuvers in the C-store. Here's hoping it gets a Battle Cloak and 5/1 weapon split as well.

Lockbox means there's a better than average chance that it actually works as intended, unlike the usual KDF offerings. So, there's that.
I'm kinda on the fence about this ship, I go from thinking it's too kooky, to thinking it's great, to thinking it looks weird, to thinking "F it I have to have it."

Reading a few other posts, I'm increasingly pleased with what the KDF gets here. They've gone to the effort of creating completely a new ship (though I suspect it will also appear as an NPC... but they could have cut costs by making it NPC-only) which can *only* be used by KDF players willing to fork out lockbox prices. That hasn't happened since 2012. And the KT uniforms could easily have been left NPC only, like the existing greatcoats. Instead, we get canon Klingon greatcoat uniforms.
As someone noted in the Warbird thread, it would have been easy not to develop these, or to give the KDF a non-option like the ability to buy the Vengeance's trait/console. Instead we get what looks to be a seriously nasty raider, which arguably outclasses every other; and YOU CAN'T FLY IT UNLESS YOU'RE KDF. So yeah, this is "best realistic scenario".
Also amusingly - I'm seeing Fed players demanding they get the KDF/Rom option to buy the Vengeance's trait and console at a reduced price. While I've badmouthed it above - in an ideal world, we'd get counterpart Klingon and Romulan intel dreadnoughts - it's actually a good idea, meaning that we can efficiently run the Vengeance's transportable assets on our own ships. I've historically held off buying lockbox ships for traits alone, so this is actually the optimal solution.

With the exception of that Phaser dmg bonus, from the set, or does it switch to Disruptor and Plasma bonuses, for KE, and NRR?
Watched Zef's video. Got enthused. Always viewed pilot ships as something for those with proper twitch reflexes. Something I lack. But despite being a crotchety old f**t (You kids stay offa my Star Trek, dagnabbit!) I am probably going to get this one and try my best not to embarrass myself. Worthwhile to find out if old age guile and treachery can outdo youth and speed.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.

Pilot maneuvers are on a CD, so you can't use them 'twitchily' anyway. It's just a quick way to engage, re-position, retreat, or flank. It also helps you to get to objectives quicker in STFs. The immunity it provides also increases survivability.
Buying the Pilot Raptor was probably the best single purchase I ever made in this game. Once you fly a pilot ship, all other ships seem inherently inferior.
Not only are all 5 seats universal, but a Commander Univeral/Pilot and a Lt. Univeral/Temporal, that's more flexiblity then the Kor, more forward weapons then the Kor, Pilot Manuevers which the Kor doesn't get, both the Kor and the D4 get raider.
The only advantage that the Kor has is as a Torpedo boat, thanks to its enhanced battle cloak and Warhead console vs the Battle Cloak of the D4.

True, but you can add silly stuff like the Delta Warp Core for Trajector Jump, the Subspace Jump console and the Hirogen Heavy Escort flip-flop console, and get all kinds of janky.

Prepare to go to, "holy hell that's expensive."
