A Morrigu

I love my Mirror Mogai and have been waiting for a sale. So I must ask a question. Should I buy a Morrigu for my Romulan Tac? £20 will now buy it.

I just want to know about the Morrigu, not Fed or Cross Faction ships. Is it worth it?

HELL YES! Best damned all purpose ship in our arsenal!
by "all purpose" I mean it doesn't matter what your captain is, or how you seat your BOFFs this ship just kicks TRIBBLE, takes names, and looks sexy doin it

T6 Mogai is one of the best ships in the Romulan lineup, IMO. That thing is very flexible in its BOFF seating. You're kind of forced to use the LtCmdr UNIV as Science but the fact it is Intel lets you slot something like this:

Polarize Hull 1, Hazard Emitters 2, Override Subsystem Safeties 3
    Or maybe:
    OSS1, HE2, TSS3

And you still have the basics for science covered and not infringe upon the ship's Tactical and Engineering aspects. Since you own the Mirror Mogai, that ship's skin can be used also on the T6 version.

While the Pilot Ships are in general the best general purpose Escorts in the game, for the RRW lineup, the Mogai's powerful LtCmdr Intel access gives it a big edge in surging power that the Pilot ones don't have.

Yep, worth it in my book. I am actually going to purchase the cross faction battlecruiser pack which has the T6 Morrigu and it's Fed / KDF counterparts once I log into the game.

The Emergency Power Cycle is a great ship trait that any captain class can take advantage of... well, except for my Fed Sci Captain that runs a torpedo ship. It also has an Intelligence / Universal Lt Cmdr Boff station. Intelligence Boff abilities are arguably the best specialization abilities in general.

This will be the first new ship that my Romulan Tac Captain will be flying since I Fall 2014. I have been flying the T6 Faeht Intel Warbird since I bought the Delta Ops ship pack. It's still a fun ship to fly, but I think it's time for a change. And did I mention the T6 Morrigu has a great ship trait?

It is one of the best multi-purpose vessels in the game, IMO. I have one decked out with the Assimilated set and the Mirror Mogai skin. It is my go-to ship for many of my Romulan toons.

If you buy a Romulan ship and it's not the Morrigu.. you're nuts. :)

Seriously, as awesome as we make it sound..

    It's better.

    Get it.

Cheers guys, I bought it. Lets see how good she is!

Yeah I agree the other posters it is a very good ship, with alot of flex in it's layout. Though i personally still flying my Dhelan which as funny to me feels an even looks like it would be more of a science ship than a tactical escort. I personally would love to see a Romulan science ship that uses a quite dhelan inspired design for a new tier six if we get one.

OP, I have to chime in and state the T6 Morrigu might be the best ship I ever purchased for my KDF-aligned Rommie Eng. Liked how it performed so well, I went and purchased the Valdore as well. So I could have the 3 piece Console set. When this set is placed on the Morrigu, it takes it to the next level. Tanky, turny and elegantly lethal all at the same time. Further, it is all but impossible to kitbash the three skins and come up with something ugly or awkward.

There are some pretty good builds out there for the Morrigu as well. I decided to go 'all in' on the Nukara Space and Weapon Sets. I have not been disappointed. Going 'all in' on the Romulan Reputation Sets gives you a ship which NPCs run away from. In PvP, the Morrigu can hold its own. Provided it has a good Captain.

Yeah, one thing I really love on the Morrigu is that I get a 2 piece set bonus for using the Valdore Console with the Albrative Armor console. It's great because those are two consoles I actually WANT to use, I would use them both even if they weren't in a set.

It's nice to get a set bonus for using consoles you actually want on your ship.

Tried her a bit now. AP Cannons and a Transphasic Torp to the front and AP Turrets and Transphasic Mines at the rear.

I must admit, I am still in two minds. Yes she is tankier than my Mirror Mogai but she was expensive. Having said that, I am still getting used to her. The Morrigu doesn't need to do the slashing runs of the Mogai because she can take a much bigger beating.

Took me about two months or so to figure out how I wanted to set my Morrigu up. Made quite a few mistakes along the way. Finally went with the Rommie Space Set, the Rommie Weapon Set and everything else was Corrosive Plasma. The regular Plasma Infuser Tactical Consoles work well if they are Upgraded to Mk XIII. Embassy Consoles add that extra bit of oomph to the Corrosive Plasma weapons. Getting five SRO BOffs with the Plasma additive was the most expensive part. Corrosive Plasma weapons are pricey, too. But they are worth it.

Glad you're enjoying the ship,, OP. Pleasant to see threads such as this. Wish there were more.

Don't have the leach. I am not willing to pay $15 for a console.

    I don't understand, how can I have OSS2 and GW1?

By putting a sci/intel boff in that lt.cmdr universal/intel seat.

As for the leech, it's best console in the game and pretty much a must have on kdf side. The dilithium exchange may not be a decent option right now but once it's calmed down grinding for that Vandal should be a top priority.

    Edit:
And the Valdore if you don't have it already.

My bad on the OSS and GW. Didn'r realise my OSS was level 2.

Like I say, I am getting used to her, yes I do have the Valdore console. I have realised I can cycle the OSS and the Singularity Overcharge, woohoo!

Before I blow 15 mil EC, can I open the box on a Fed and then transfer or is it bound to character?

As long as the box remains closed, the Console inside is Unbound. So you can send it anywhere you want or post it for sale, If you open the box, the Console becomes Bound to Character.

So to get the console for a KDF-Romulan I will have to buy the ship. Bugger!
  • glenn#1579 glenn Member Posts: 275 Arc User
Well, I bought the ship and equipped it on my Morrigu. Getting used to her now. Target at 10 and slow down, let the cannons do their thing.

The besting about buying the Varanus Destroyer is the fact that all you KDF and KDF aligned RR captains can claim the Plasmonic Leech multiple times for their ships. However, only one Leech can be installed per ship.

As for the Leech that you purchased off the Exchange, personally, I would simply hold on to it so until the price goes back up as fewer and fewer people opens the Infinity Lock Box. The Plasmonic Leech may not go back up to 70m EC, but I think 35m to 40m EC is reasonable in a month or two.

That is pure speculation though, but I have purchased 3 Leeches for around 12m to 14m each for speculation purposes. At worse, I would be selling them for the price that I paid, but I am pretty sure that will not happen.

The Morrigu is worth it for the trait alone, let alone the other huge benefits!

The Vandal Destroyer has the plasmonic leech. The Varanus support vessel has a repair platform.

Although I can understand the confusion as both have similar-sounding names.
Now a LTS and loving it.

Played a couple of missions where I know my T5 Mogai would have been toast. My newly equipped Morrigu breezed them.

I have changed her loadout. I am now using 2 AP Cannons and a quad Plasma to the front. Swapped out my AP Mags for Pre-fire chambers.

The Morrigu is deffo growing on me.
