Exploring these for the first time. Why am I limited to long nails and Reman feet on my non-Reman, male character, please?

Sorry, I should clarify. I'm referring to Beachwear Separates.

    In addition, on Risa, I see people running around in shorts but I'm limited to long trousers. Where do I get the shorts from, please?

    There's a vendor on the platform by the beam in spot that sells beach related items, among other things, in exchange for "favors" received by completing different tasks around Risa, such as the powerboard race and artifact hunt.
