SUGGESTION: T6 Oddy Saucer Separation

captainwestbrookcaptainwestbrook Member Posts: 226 Arc User
Hi,

I'd like to suggest that when we use the separation console on T6 Oddy, we are able to choose which section we want to pilot, perhaps each of the sections have their own abilities/stats as well.

I'd get behind that idea. The only saucer separation ship I use is the Romulan Haakona and its T6 sibling, the Kara, because that version of the console (which was introduced later) has spoiled me.

How about the MVAE console? That gives you even more choice.

I'm not familiar with the MVAE console, I guess that's the multi vector assault? Are you able to choose which part you pilot in that?

That console's pretty slick, too. The escort breaks up into specialized tactical, engineering, and science ships, so you're choosing which two you want to support you when you separate.

The Romulan variant is similar. You keep your loadout when you separate, but you're chooosing either an escort or an engineering healer ship to support you. Your choice of which ship vector you command personally can be based on the kind of helper you want at that moment.

I agree with this completely! I would also like to see this feature added to the Galaxy, and Galaxy-X. Sure flying the saucer around may not be quite as Bass@ssery as flying the battle section, but still could be fun. OOOW! What about adding the Pilot abilities to the Saucers of these ships? They would be deactivated when joined, but if you choose to fly the saucer you would get the fancy pilot maneuver's!!! One can dream cant they?

I'm okay with this too. Once this puppy gets checked off, let's work on having photonic fleet follow sci guys like security team follows tac. :)

Ah this really does sound perfect. And I'd also support this for pretty much any ship with the saucer sep out there!

I suppose the main hull could have more offensive abilities(+Weapons and Aux), where as the saucer could have defensive capabilities (+Engine Speed and Shielding). Open to other ideas too.

From a game mechanics standpoint, the changes might only have to be made to the console that triggers the saucer separation; the ability that summons the helper ship and the stat changes to your ship that come into play when separated are all tied to that one piece of equipment.
