Fuzzy/grainy/old-timey graphics?

Ok, just tried AoY yesterday for the first time and the screen is all fuzzy/grainy except for the HUD.
I'm assuming this is 'on purpose'? Trying to make it look like the old TOS resolution.
I really really hate it. I don't have a big ol' HD monitor so I can look at grainy images.
If this is on purpose, then there needs to be a toggle in the Options so people can turn it off.

    There's a specific thread already started about this and it has been discussed in several Tribble/AoY threads.

    Love the look of the film grain. Very enjoyable. Adds a nice retro flare. To remove it would kill the immersion, at least for me.
