If I'm careful to get all the settings sight for the head and body, I can duplicate pretty much any of my characters and BOFFs in the Foundry, but it takes time. Is there a folder that holds the costume, is it compatible with saved Tailor files?
I seem to remember people abusing it to get orion uniforms on non-orions and mixed with other uniform options ... maybe im wrong, been a long time since they took that away.

Well, there's Mirror costume stuff in the editor already; the current stuff including Leeta's costume parts. It's only accessible for Federation NPC's, but it mixes and matches with many other things.

Not uniforms... Stuff like green Caitians and furry Klingons. Also it had a glitch that let you make space assets as ground chars, and vice versa.
How would that even operationally work? A model for even a light cruiser is huge when it's set as a ground model (parked).
That's only true of assets built for ground scale. These were ship costumes for playable ships. They're shown on ground at the same size that you see them in space.

The parked versions are different, upscaled models. The actual models we fly in space are the same size as our ground toons.
Actually they're a fair bit bigger than our ground toons, though not as big as the groundscale ship assets. Check it out next time the indoor starships bug pops up: a player turned into an Odyssey blocks half the corridor on Deep Space 9.

Interesting. A bit different from older MMOs like Star Wars Galaxies, where the characters were scaled to their ships, but a T-65 starfighter or a YT-1300 Corellian freighter are substantially smaller than most 'Trek ships.

I'm familiar with the bug, saw it a lot in beta and at launch which is how I knew that much, but my only experience involved a Miranda class, which was roughly the same size as my ground toon.

Well, an Oddy is considerably bigger than a Miranda: the Miranda is smaller than a ~350 meter Connie, whereas the GCS and Sovereign are about 650 meters long and I think the Oddy is scaled to be about a kilometer in length.
