General Feedback about the whole expansion.

So this is my general feedback

AOY as a Whole: Short. Dosn't feel like an Expansion. But fun and really pretty.
It's everything my inner TOS fanboy craved. And it's possibly the first time I've ever been legitimately excited for something to do with STO.

However I feel like it's a giant Tutorial. All this neat stuff but for new characters only, and then you must repeat the entire game again. I understand the difficulty in making it work for older characters but when you have a lot invested, it becomes difficult. So players could at least have had an option to meet Daniels and "Remember" their origins.

TOS Era would serve better if it brings us up to the story where we encounter the Dyson Sphere. Make better use of the TOS Ranks, since gameplay wise you get to Level 10 or 11 and it's time to play the Klingon Front.

AOY could do with more missions. And the current ones made longer. So far to me at least, the missions felt rushed like I was being pushed to get to the end as soon as possible. Sometimes it was a little irritating. I'd get to a point where I felt I was at the Middle of the mission only to find out it's actually the end.

Caleb IV was a very short mission too. You've released all these new ships and new content only for us to get 6 missions which feel in terms of length like 4 missions. The Gorn felt the longest, Caleb felt the shortest. We don't get a lot to do really.

ESD feels more like an Outpost. Especially in terms of size. The Earth Spacedock we see in the TMP Movies and in TNG was built before 2285.
It dosn't seem appropriate to call it a Spacedock, since Spacedock's were generally large facilities capable of containing a ship, such as Drydock, ESD etc. Internally the space of TOS ESD is more like "Outpost 1". K-7 looks bigger.

Drozana was a Federation station built in the 2200's. There isn't any reason a cleaned up version couldn't be used as an ESD. Just refitted to have larger internal spaces.

In short, considering this expansion is meant to be about TOS, we don't see a lot of it. We have a handful of missions that don't take long to do and then get thrown into the the year 2409/2410 and onwards. The character shows no hesitation, no confusion, no annoyance etc. Just goes along with it. AOY would of worked the same as a new Story Arc during the New Dawn missions where you go back in time to stop the Nak's in TOS/ENT. *Shrug*.

I love the expansion, it's very TOS'y. But it's just.. too short. Lacks substance and it's Luster fades. Leaving you ultimately to deal with the idea of replaying the whole game for nothing but a reputation system. The best we can hope for is that Cryptic actually make some effort to have each and every Fed Mission have different interactions for TOS players in terms of the context of writing, to give you a more Fish out of Water feel and special speech options. But I doubt that.

Hopefully foundry authors will be able to significantly increase the amount of TOS content. I'm planning a mission of my own, but it'll likely have a rather high level requirement.

One thing I hate about the TOS faction, apart from being too short is how the path to the mission location is sloooooooooooooooooow. I know it's a problem with the other factions too and there isn't much to be done, but it's still annoying.

My suggestion is to add a line the first time you enter sector space, something like "welcome to sector space, this is where you'll go to travel from sector to sector. As you progress through ranks, you'll have access to better warp cores to make your travels faster".

Or how about "this is sector space, we could only make a handful of TOS missions so we put them reeeeaaaaallllly far apart so you can spend a bit more time in the past. Enjoy!"

I am concerned as well. I really have no interest in starting a new Fed toon in an alternate timline only to have to revisit all of the content after level 10. I expected them to give it more of the Legacy of Romulus treatment and bring us current a little bit later in our progression. As it stands now, I can see no real reason to buy the new pack as using 23rd century skins in a 25th century environment isn't really all that appealing to me. I will, of course, give it time and see how it unfolds.

    That would be more accurate.

Though it would be missing the "Y'all be stuck at Warp 5. Ciao!"

I levelled a character up to level 20 (Commander) and discovered a couple of things.

First, As an Agent of Yesteryear, my career choice isn't recognized. I first noticed this in the mission to save the freighter, the first mission as a normal feddie. I was playing a Tac officer and I couldn't use the control panel that lets you immolate the Orions. Later, when I got my first Kit reward, it said I couldn't use the kit so I couldn't open the reward box

Second, While Admiral Whatisface was happy to congratulate me on making Lieutenant Commander, He didn't recognise my promotion to Commander, no mission to get promoted, no free ship token, nothing.

Lastly, While trying to get promoted to Commander by the afore mentioned Admiral (Quinn I think he's called) I stopped by the Temporal Investigations guy just to see what would happen, I talked to him and got a second option. Aside from the Delta Rising rewards tab, there was a Temporal Agent rewards tab. Looked Identical to the Delta rising tab so I assume it's a work in progress, but, if is serves the same purpose, we're gonna need similar expansions for the Klingon and Romulan factions. Otherwise you'll hear the screams from the other side of the world, and in space!

From what I've seen, unlike the Delta Recruitment event, which was available to all factions, the Temporal Recruitment event is only for the TOS Fed.
That said, it'll most likely give account-wide rewards, otherwise, it's kinda pointless (especially since some objectives will be looong to complete, like reaching lvl10 in all admirality campaigns and rank 4 in all DOff commendations).

First off yes there are only 6 missions and they are short, second the ending needs to be changed, after you die Daniels takes you to the 29th century at the home base of Temporal Investigations and emplanes why you have been saved and your new job as a Temporal agent. you are given a wells time ship and a temporal device that lets you contact Daniels and travel in time. at this point the player can select to go back to the TOS era or go to the 25th century and do the old missions. They can add new missions and you can travel back and forth between times. they can also make time mission in the other star trek eras.
