Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I've just come back from the convention this weekend and met Mr. Combs. Out of the whole bunch (including Trace Beaulieu and Frank Coniff of MST3K fame), he was the friendliest and most open to conversation. I didn't have him sign a screencap of the game, but I did say that I played STO and my character (Shrann) was based off of him).
And here's the pic and autograph I got:
Just remember, many of these actors had no part in the game. So to ask them for an autograph on something from the game may seem somewhat strange. Or as Shatner said when he accepted an award for Star Trek '09, "I wasn't even in the movie" (while looking directly at Abrams in the audience).
Brent Spiner - More into non fiction and documentaries, doesn't care for fiction in general. Though there was that one convention where he decided to have a little fun with P. Stewart by playing a fan in the audience.
Walter Koenig - First convention, didn't get what the big deal was, didn't want to be there. Softened his stance over time and eventually came to appreciate it all. (He is rather tired of the "Nuclear Wessel" line, so don't be a d*** by asking him to say it please?)
John de Lancie - Doesn't even pay attention to the roles he does. Did an episode for Touched By an Angel. During a reading he asked what show was he doing this for, he's never said "God" so many times in his life. After doing his first episode for my little pony, a month later he started getting fan mail and didn't know what was going on. His wife reminded him of the role he had just done. At the very least he cared enough about Q to give thought on what kind of character he wanted to portray (A god with clay feet.) As far as reprising Q, he's said that that is in the past.
It's well known that Nimoy felt type cast because of the Spock character.
I can' blame him, the only thing people would remember of his career was his role as Spock.
After a while, I'm sure it became very problematic for him, when trying to get other "different roles".
It's not that he was ungrateful, it just made his life as an actor more difficult.
He was so recognizable as Spock, that producer couldn't picture him in other very different roles, and he didn't work as much as he wanted to because of this.
I was in my work breakroom at lunch the other week. Another Star Trek fan was in there eating with me. Either she, or someone before her had turned it to an old episode of Columbo. Well there was Nimoy playing some role as a doctor who was trying to cover up a murder and Columbo was on the scent. What was funny, they even had Leonard in black slacks and a blue long sleeve shirt, lol. I honestly couldnt remember ever seeing Leonard acting outside of Spock, so I watched him. And now I can see why he was typecast, he has NO RANGE. His Columbo character, he acted it JUST like Spock. I was like gee Leonard, Spock really is YOU. So I can imagine as he tried out for other roles, yeah, a lot of Spock came out in his performance, dry and plain. Never met Nimoy at cons or anything, maybe some of you feel differently, but Spock was the perfect role for him because now it seems to me he had to do little acting at all, he was playing himself the way Robert Downey Jr does as Ironman.
STO: @AGNT009 Since Dec 2010

well that's TRIBBLE because he voiced Q in that stupid ios freemium thing 'timelines'. it annoyed me 'cause if he'll do a stupid app thing why the hell won't he do STO?
