null Exactly, the reports that 40 million ps4 and 20 million Xbox 1 players should in no way insure the growth of your playerbase or add to development resources for your game
As far as PVP goes this might be the refreshing restart some of us might be looking for no? No macros, or button smashing spacebar to auto balance shields haha, I really hope the console version can bring back the days of solid balanced pvp.
Well as I'm a fan of sto on pc I haven't been able to play on my pc for awhile but I do own an Xbox one would I be able to transfer my account to Xbox if so I'm a huge fan of it if not then it's a loss to me
I don't know if this has been brought up, but the PS4 does support Keyboard and Mouse, the devs just have to include it in the game, it was done with the WarThunder port to the console, and i hope to see it done too in this game as well, as the Keyboard and Mouse (not to sound all PC superior race-ish) does offer better control over activating various skills independent of each other.
I have a VERY good question. bearing in mind both consoles either support/offer their own peripherals like chat pads and or full sized keyboards, will functionality be included that takes advantage of either option?
an example being, the xbox one both supports a full sized usb keyboard, and offers as an optional accessory, a chat pad that plugs into the controller. I like what I'm seeing with the console ui, but there are going to be more than a few players who will prefer options other than the radial menus.
[*] Will Keyboard/Mouse setups be available on console, and if so will there be a way of moving either the Chat or the Shield/Hull UI elements so that one doesn't obscure the other?

Anyway, thanks for the updated info. I'm rather interested in how you're going to get this to work, even if the segregation of our player accounts pretty much negates any interest in switching over. It's neat to see how you're tackling the issue of carrying STO over to a more limited array of inputs.
Right, also, @xraiderv1 the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 all support those devices as well. I'm not entirely certain about standard keyboards on the 360 in games, but it did support them for messages, but all it would take is the developer to allow that through as a new control type, it is my understanding that with the support already integrated in the console it wouldn't take much to just enable it to the game.
So it has already been brought up, ok, any results?
APB:Reloaded has had much hatred and anger from it's PC Supremacist crowd over the misunderstanding of the PS4's support of a Keyboard and Mouse. The first time i seen K+M compatibility was in Unreal Tournament III on PS3, and the new device that was created to emulate a PS4 controller though a K+M hardware was as disappointing as knock off ice cream flavors. All it would take is a simple update per game to unlock the K+M control style for players to then use the K+M on the console in their favorite games.
That being said, i hope this post isn't lost or missed by anyone with any pertinent decision making capability in the game, as this feature would technically make it or break it in the game on the console. YES the basic keyboard and mouse plug and play driver is available in the console's linux package, no you do not have any real excuse other than "i don't wanna q.q" to not include this into the game...
Onto my next bit...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
Account link!!! yet another make it or break it is the cash shop past purchases, or like, maybe limit it to what can be unlocked? or maybe to allow players to have a period to where they can unlock their PC Purchases on the console for XX days or something, i do understand how revenue works, and how that would affect a potential new income source, however, the lack of this would honestly be a deal breaker for me. as i've invested much (over $1000) on the PC version, and would be rather miffed if i had to suck it up and go without like WarThunder forced me to do. APB is offering this ability last i read, and i would really like to see the consoles and PC both simultaneously logged into the same universe playing side by side, with whatever control style they like, with their accounts on whatever hardware they please. Players wouldn't be so bound if there was cross console capability.
just saw yesterdays blog on the navigating console UI, i think i see the possibility of the queue UI being a better addition than the one the pc is running, in that each queue has its reputation queue, one for omega, then nakura and then romulan and so on.. easiest difficulty on top the hardest at the bottom by default. and the featured ones along the top. something like that would be nice to have on the pc version.
also i think the captains commands is one i can get behind, i usually have a number of missions in my log and it is chaotic at best, by filtering them out accordingly on the side along with interactions from npcs, especially in a crowded zone. it beats the hell out of a button interaction on the screen when you can clearly see it always on the side in the commands. i also think i can see that being adapted for the pc as well.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
It looks so beautiful, esp. the full screen LCARS look. While this exact thing would be very irritating with keyboard and mouse it would be good to eventually have it as an option for PC users with controllers (I own a Steam controller for when I'm too lazy to sit at the desk and STO is the only game I can't get a good system with - voice commands in addition improve it but not enough).
I'd love to at least see some of those full screen LCARS come in use on the PC UI. I feel like I'm in the 90s with all these tiny windows all over the place.
I'm really hoping that regardless of what you're playing on, that we won't be stuck in the terrible shooter mode any time we use the controller. I would much rather stick with the target lock like champions, especially given how terrible it is in NW.
Could you please answer these question for Xbox One.
I just want to know if i do decide to play it on my Xbox One will i be able to transfer my characters or not?

"my second concern...is how are accounts going to be handled? can we sign in and share progress between pc/console, or are we going to end up forced into starting from scratch, or worse, given the choice to migrate one way to console?"

It has already been stated in multiple interviews, (and many times in these forums) that there will be NO Transferring of Toons and No Cross-platform play.
Sorry.

The mobile market? That's not even funny for an MMO game.
Mobile isn't really the place for this game...
My character Tsin'xing
