FED Ships for TOS Toons

Hi all.

Is it possible to use all my FED Ships on my TOS Toon.
Asking because of the Traits.

Thx.

Unknown at this point, but something Zero said in a recent interview made it sound like a possible no. She said TOS will be it's own faction with it's own ships, just like Romulans.

    Two of them, that is.

I'm pretty sure the TOS faction can use all of the temporal ships currently announced.

Not sure how ... since there are 2 Cross Factions Ships in the Temporal Bundle ... so even "regular" Klingons & Romulans seem to have access to "some" ships ... sounds kinda silly, to restrict TOS Captains while giving everyone else their Ships ...

PS : Except it would be nothing like Romulans which have access to T1-T4 Ships from other Factions, and have their own T5/T6 Ships ... so that would be different on both accounts

They are not restricting TOS captains. They are giving them the same deal the Romulans got.

And again ... except Klingons & Feds don't have access to T5/T6-Romulan Ships ... and Romulans also have access to T1-T4 Fed/KDF Ships ... still not "the same deal" ...

Heh, wonder how many people bought the AOY pack thinking their feds could use all the T6 ships.

Some people say AOY is like the Delta Toons, i think this is absolut wrong.
AOY is maybe like the Romulans, but i think this is a bad idea. They should be like the Delta Toons, some own episodes and then "normal" FEDs.
Sad that FEDs also can not fly the TOS ships.

I think you're on to something. If TOS is its own faction independent from Feds (outside of T1-4 Fed ships), that means they'll be releasing more TOS-only content in the future, which is in essence a 'stimulus' to start from scratch and therefore make the console STO equally attractive as the PC version, helping to migrate existing PC STO players out of PC and into consoles, plus re-buying and re-grinding of everything.

As for ship traits, they'll come in lockboxes no doubt just like they've (almost) always done cross-faction for ships that don't have a counterpart which can be traded (exchange).

If I was reading it correctly, AOY is like the Rom faction, and the characters created during the Temporal Agent event are like Delta Recruits.

If this is not the case, I'm going to need a refund ... like NOW ... there is literally nothing on that page to suggest regular feds would not have access to the Enterprise-J inspired ships.

My impression with no factual basis whatsoever is~

    * "Old School" looking T2-T5 can only be used by TOS captains
    * "Futuristic" J-Enterprise looking T6s are for regular Federation AND TOS captains
    * "Time Traveler" Wells-looking T6s are fully cross faction.

    But, what do I know?

It's my understanding that the higher tier Fed. Temporal ships, can be used by TOS & FED's, while the other two will be available to Everybody.

Indeed there isn't. If the pack is TOS faction exclusive (minus the existing content overlaps), even if just the T5-6 ships (outside of the 2 T6 cross-faction ones), well, it's still "fair game" if only in legal terms considering marketing knew enough to state "Downloadable Content: Requires the base game Star Trek Online on Arc in order to play."

If this is true, well, that omission ...I'll just not say anything more so I don't get vanished.

I was under the impression - at least in the interviews and the releases that I've seen - that the TOS feds will have an independent storyline for the beginning part of the expansion, and then they would join with the regular FED storyline after a certain point - where they would have added "content' like the Delta Recruits, meaning they would have things that they discover along the way to 60 that unlock additional bonuses/items/missions. They've made the comparison to Delta Recruits specifically, in that the TOS characters will unlock bonuses and such for regular FED toons.

This means that once the TOS element is done, and the character joins the regular factions in the present timeline, all fed ships would be available to that character.

Maybe I've been misreading it, but that's how I interpret things.

    I fear:
TOS Ships ALL only for TOS Captains.
TOS Captains cant fly any FED T6 or T5 ships, maybe T1-T4, but this is irrelevant, they get no FED-Trait.
FEDs only get the TOS skins to use on the FED variant of the TOS ships, only cosmetic, nothing else.

Sad that FEDs also can not fly the TOS ships.

It depends ... it already leaked that you're going to replay most of the "regular" FED Content ... IF you do it within a certain Time-Frame you'll get additonal Boni like Delta Recruits ... if you don't and i.E. start your TOS-Toon 2 monts later, you'll get nothing but you're still going to replay the same stuff ...

I like TOS, but this give me a bad tast.
Over the Years i have collect and buy so many stuff for my FEDs and Romulans, now they want me to do the same for TOS, hm, the game is not so young anymore, it is 6 Years old.
I dont now what to do, maybe play the free TOS content, then let the Toon be a doffing and admirality System Slave.
Sad, because i was hoping for a new second main Toon, but i dont think this will be happen.
I will wait and see what is comming next.

Pretty sure it was confirmed by devs that the TOS faction can use all of the current Fed ships, and Feds could use the TOS future ships.

Not sure on the early TOS ships, though...

I was pretty excited for this when it sounded like the TOS were just an extension of the Federation faction I really wanted to buy the new Temporal pack. But if they are going to be just be like the Romulans as an example of the way the faction is setup and I cannot use my exsisting T5 and T6 Federation ships my excitment has been stunned with a phaser lol. The traits from those ships is the reason I was so excited to use them on the new TOS character. As well as the use for admiralty. I guess it originally sounded too good to be true.

I will run a new character to do the missions and get the temporal recruit rewards but I believe now I am not going to spend any money on this new faction and I really wanted too. To each their own I hope everyone enjoys their new Temporal Agent Packs

    Except for every single sentence?

Give me one quote from that article that says or suggests those ships will be TOS only.
