Ok ... We've already heard that the T6 temporal ships that were "inspired" by a TOS ship will be allowed to wear / use the skin of that TOS era ship.
What I'm proposing is if you get a T6 Temporal Raider Ouroboros Class and already have a T5 temporal escort (any of the three factions) on that same toon, you be allowed to use the skin of that T5 ship.
If you get a T6 Temporal Multi-Mission Science Vessel Eternal Class and have the T5 temporal science ship, then you be allowed to use the skin from that T5 ship on your T6.
I see it quite similar to what they are already looking to do regarding the TOS ships AND it gives a reason for people to still want those older T5 ships that are now outdated.
It would also take these universal ships and give us faction specific looks already done and in game. ... Feds, KDF, and ROM alike.

Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
I believe the temporal destroyers are actually small enough and close enough that they could convert over nicely.
And it gives all three factions visual options. That's a good thing.

Do we actually know that, though? For all we know, the temporal raider is super tiny. That's not even taking into account that they have a completely different shape.

Is it really tiny? Even the last couple cross faction raiders (baltim, tandaari) were pretty big for their class.
Aside from that it's probably not possible due the very different models all these ships use.
