I was at the bank in First City when I saw this garbage!
His bio showed he was a Gorn, but he looks like a giant purple naked Ferasan! That's right! No clothes at all, not even underwear! And some sort of hair style that shouldn't be available to either Gorn or Ferasan.
And just to the right (under the arrow I put in the screenshot) was your typical "cat girl". A female alien with a long Catian tail. It was hard to see due to the poor lighting on Qo'nos, but it looked like she may have been wearing a Federation jacket of some sort. Several months ago I saw a naked Ferasan on DS9. I don't know if it was the same player or not.
This is unacceptable!

People make what they make, as long as it isnt obscene, so what?
And no, that wasnt obscene.
You say this while wearing a Coca-Cola influenced Christmas color schemed outfit, on an Orion, as a (likely) Dahar Master, in the heart of the Klingon Empire. You may have had some kind of point if you stuck to just the Ferasan/Gorn, since he's definitely not supposed to be able to have nothing but fur on (unless a Dev, I know Highison liked to occasionally run around as a Chippendale Caitian), but the "cat girl" was likely only making use of the customizations (the only thing I can't say for sure is the tail). Aside from that, none of it is TRIBBLE, though the Ferasan IS definitely taking advantage of glitches in the Tailor/customization system.
It's the gumdrop colored winter jacket, with the winter hat and fleet miner pants colored to match.
Unlike that stupid Gorn, and alien that isn't suppose to even have tails since it's NOT a standard feature available to them, I'm not using an exploit that allows unrestricted access to the tailor.
If the character annoys you, ignore them and go about your day. People would be a lot happier if they worried more about what they want and less about what others are doing.
The character in the screen shot looks stupid, no argument there. Just chalk it up as someone doing something stupid and move on, it's not worth the effort.
That is what you're basically doing, OP. Sure, obscene things should be a no-go, without a question.. but this is the message you're basically sending, with your outrage. That you are okay with dictating what is and what is not acceptable for other people's characters. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

Or is it, that you just don't like the way that Gorn/Ferasan looks ?
There is a way to mix and match costumes from any factions, but if I told you how.....someone might snuff me out. If you catch my drift.
It's all very hush hush.
And I've probably said too much already. So I'm going to drop it and move on.
This has nothing to do with telling others what they can or can't do with their characters, immersion, or canon. It's about people doing something in the game that wasn't intended to happen, i.e., using an exploit to gain unrestricted access to the tailor.
Edit: To be clear, if it was intended by design for players to do it, they could make their characters look as silly as they want for all I care.
If I ever found out about an exploit to gain massive amounts of dilithium, should I not report it because it's not my business to tell others what to do?
There are bigger problems the game has, than putting an effort into restricting nice features frtom the players, like more character customization. The tailor & character appearance has no real bearing on the gameplay, giving any unfair advantages or rewards, unlike a Dilithium bug, for example.
I'm with you on reporting a real issue like that... but this? Just nah.

Edit: then again, the only time I've seen someone with a tail where it seemed that her character shouldn't have access to it, it was in fact a Caitian but with non-furry skin.
And maybe an option to use other unlocked features such as Trill spots, Borg implants or Talaxian features on my other characters. Wait, did I really say Talaxian?
And if we're never going to see Voth playable species, some options to create an Alien-Voth would be nice too. Or a Alien-Na'kuhl
For stuff like hair, clothes, implants - no reason to restrict to species & gender. Imho. Would be cool to have this, really.

Seriously, those players simply were lucky to use a tailor glitch before it got fixed. Some people have kobali with tails, old gorn (those from launch) or fed uniform items (my deferi use TOS dress uniform badges, even KDF side). You demand people to change their characters because of that?

Sounds like an idea. I wish we could get more non-ship related stuff in the C-store anyway. New pets, Boffs, species, uniforms: there's a lot of potential. I would even pay for small things like different visuals for kit powers (a Voth mech that replaces the standard visual for shield recharge, just to give one example).
I completely agree that they should open up more options in the tailor. I'm not asking to have options taken away, just for an exploit to be fixed. If you think I'm asking for options to be taken away, it sounds like you're saying they shouldn't fix something in the game that was not intended to happen. If I knew what the exploit was it I'd report it.
It's one thing to ask for more options in the tailor. It's something entirely different when using an exploit to get what you want. It doesn't matter whether it gives an advantage or not.

Uniform options. Down with the pants and boots if I remember right.
Are you sure it got fixed? Because somebody already implied that it was "hush hush" stuff, like they don't want Cryptic to fix it.
This is a perfect example as to why Cryptic should open up more tailor options. Granted, a big naked furry is a bit too far.
I say give aliens their cat tails, and open up more species type options to them. Give players the variety and options they want and they won't have to resort to a life a secrecy using exploits.
Ohhhh. I take your word for it. It's probably the exploit I reported to a dev last year. I guess they actually did fix it. I thought it wasn't actually fixed, but tested it a bit ago and it didn't work. So then I thought maybe it was a different exploit I didn't know about.
So @angrytarg is probably right about it being stuff players did before it was fixed.
Again, I don't want options taken away from people. I just wish Cryptic would give the players what they want so they don't have to resort to such nefarious methods. More options are better. Much much better.
Should another exploit be discovered, players would probably use it. They shouldn't have to resort to that, and then be disappointed that it got fixed (even though it really wasn't hurting anything).
