Enterprise had its shield up and my lazzyness kicked in...
I was recent re-install my old PC and did some practise in Sketchup
It is extremly users friend tool
and a lot of ready-made models in the https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/
usualy I like to dig around models people already made Mehehehehe
Assembled in sketchup you can make your idea extremly fast
In smaller models, I usualy dont use layers only made parts in to components
I will have seperated parts copied and moved away from the assembled model
and modified them quickly.
and then modify background colour in Style ( no need to make fancy background or lights )
and then save the style (various dark/lightness in Scenes )
you can always cut out the background colour (it has to be some weirdo colour not present anyway in your model)
and replace them in photoshop in colour selection tool
Models:
Klingon Battlecruiser (Steven G.)
USS Enterprise NCC 1701 TOS in-progress ( A W )
Explosion and smokes:
Smoke effect (Teras)
Cloud effect (Teras)
Explosion effect ( ??? ) I cant find the author anyway.
explosion parts based on (these guys have alot good ones)
Shai-Hulud, Sandworm of DUNE (Katase)
tracer effect (Alistair W.)
Dead guys in the explosion + modifed textures ( what made by me LOL )
you can copy parts of the ship "outward"and then "rotate"them surround the explosion
and with a bit here and there
you get explosion + debris very fast.
the fire, main explosion, debris, particles, they have to be seperate components or you get messed up fast.
No rendering required, just "export 2D" -> and made the pixels 2x much as my computer screen
Raytrace you can use and you need lights and other stuffs
my computer is like really way too old for 3D craps
and Raytrace also cost real money...
I only got dilithiums and coupons
you can also use "scenes" to make animations,
but it's been awhile ...
Comments
(also, i was thinking the same thing about the no damage to the Ent lol)
