Agents of Yesterday and The Foundry

What can we expect to see in the Foundry as far as Agents of Yesterday? New assets and maps are probably a given, but it would be awesome to be able to create missions for TOS characters.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Trunk? Don't you mean the whole fraggin' forest? :D

The one thing I hope for is something I've been looking forward to for a long time in the grand tradition of Star Trek: A map made in homage to Vasquez Rocks! B)

Also miscellaneous alien planet sets. Doing absolutely nothing besides moving the trees and changing the lighting would pretty much be required for use.

No, more forests. Because everyone knows that every sci-fi planet looks like Vancouver.

But seriously, we all know that the Foundry is a low priority. Knowing what Cryptic has said about their work scheduling in the past, they're going to be pulling all nighters right up until launch day. Not a lot of free time for adding assets to the Foundry, so honestly I don't expect much of anything right away. Maybe the ships, because new player ships get added fairly consistently. But detail objects or maps? I really don't expect anything.

You keep saying that but what you really mean is you're weird. That's cool though, so are the rest of us  Weirdness transcends nationality.

But let's turn this around. Let's ask, "What do we already have that can be useful in building TOS-era missions?" And the answer is "quite a lot actually"

Maps: TOS Constitution interior and bridge, TOS Klingon ship interior (Worvig, from 2270), Drozana TOS interior

Detail objects: TOS fed consoles, tables, chairs and other misc stuff from the Connie interior, K-7 space asset

NPCs: TOS Fed and Klingon combat mobs and NPC contacts.

Costumes: TOS Fed, KDF and Romulan costumes

Ships: TOS Connie, Romulan BoP, Klingon D-7

Plus plenty of other existing stuff that can be repurposed like civilian clothes, generic ships, etc.

Is that ... a insult? :open_mouth:@artan42 I need you and a team of scientists to analyse what he said.

Do TOS Klingon groups spawn targs? If not then ... then Romulans of that era used the same weapons as the KDF ... so with a simple reskin you have some Romulan TOS stuff.

Edit: so the TOS Klingon combat group actually doesn't use TOS weapons. They don't appear to spawn Targs, but they do also come at you with batleths and dktags, so probably not suitable for reskinning as TOS romulans.

If we get a certain desert map I'm totally making a parody SSF mission.

One thing that amuses me to no end is that Power Rangers was dubbed into Japanese. They took a Japanese TV show reworked it(by adding new stuff, and taking out a lot of stuff) to make something different, and then translated it back to Japanese. :p

Now ... I present @artan42 with his bridge officers.

Completely and utterly accurate save for one tiny detail...

...they're GERMAN! Look at those silly hats, my hat's aren't half as silly. They certainly don't have a point on top anyway.
