Star Trek Online Oceania Servers

Hi, I like so many others am a big Fan of the game and love the complexity and structure to game play. The only problem with the whole game is the unbearable lag and rubberbanding that many if not all Australian users get, which virtually makes the whole game in its awesome entirety unplayable.
I'm just wondering how far of a prospect Oceania Servers might be as an asset to Star Trek Online, Cryptic and Arc and of course the entire missing continent?

If I'm not mistaken, all the games servers are in one place. (Or maybe I'm thinking of something else? If so, someone correct me.) If this is the case, there's probably zero chance.

Yeah there's only one place where all the servers are located, in the Boston area if I'm not mistaken. Lags and rubberbanding happen to everybody, no matter where they are located.

There are apparently not enough players outside the US to justify the extra work of creating shards in other locations.

Far FAR too many MMO's make the mistake of dividing their playerbase into portions across servers with no ability to hop across if desired. Especially a pain when you have friends on one server, and you're on another. I'm looking at you Armored Warfare and World of Tanks/Warships! And a few other PWE games too with the same deal. It's always worth a little extra ping to have a more lively central server. STO has gotten this right and must never ever try to change that.

But don't get me wrong though, I feel for those in particular areas with bad overseas connection, but I tend to think it's more about how the connection is routed more than the actual distance.

Living in Brisbane with no access to the NBN (Just 1.5mb ADSL2), I get the occasional spike in lag but thats usually caused by other net traffic on my pc. In the 5 years I've been playing the only really unplayable times have been when practically nobody could play due to outside attacks on the servers (like the recent neverwinter DDOS spammer)

I also get rubberbanding and terrible lag on weekends from being in the sydney area.
+1 for oceania servers

in Sydney and the only rubber banding I have ever experienced was when DR was released.....but other than that, it's been really stable for me. It might have something to do with isp. when I first picked up the game, I had cable internet, I could not log on between the hours of 6pm to 3 am.....EVER.
