Frankly, it's a stupid stipulation by this forum... Almost every other forum I've ever posted (including moderated) on, had the rule of "Use the search function and contribute to an existing thread rather than start a new one"... I don't see my addition as meriting the creation of it's own new thread... Another idea I have, on the other hand, yeah, that'll get a new thread when the time's right
As long as the thread is still relevant sure,
But Necro Rangers are just a joke here in ten forward
IMHO, if someone has something valid to contribute to a topic, I'd say it's relevant But relevant doesn't always need its own new thread...
The "main" logic, in that after 30 days of "no new posts", a game information thread does run the chance of being "outdated" by the changes Cryptic makes to the game.
Hence the "ban" in the first place.
And making the ban a "blanket" ban instead of a "case by case judgement" ban is easier for moderation, whether or not us player types seem to agree... Though most forums I've seen have an "automatic lockout" feature instead of allowing necros...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Out of curiousity, what was the topic of those forums? Like I said, most forums I've posted on, actively endorse using the search function to find a topic, rather than starting a new thread (especially if it involves a question, which may already have been answered) I understand that with game information, it could become outdated, but a topic like this one, for example, is pretty much an ongoingly open subject, where new posters can contribute new thoughts, or, like myself, someone's opinion may change
In the case I was speaking of, it was a forum related to Monster Rancher games. It wasn't a very busy forum and sometimes certain sub-forums related to specific games would go unused for long periods.

This little bit of thread irrelevancy has been brought to you by the letter æ.
