Someone describe how the Furious Footwork Ground Unlock is useful

Furious Footwork (requires 6 Ground Skills to unlock)
Attacking with Melee grants you +20% Run Speed for 2sec. This effect is refreshed by each subsequent attack. instead of stacking.

I am at a complete loss as to how to leverage this in such a way as to be of any use or advantage EVER. If the game had a /follow command that WORKED, I could see a use for it ... but on manual control? No, I can't even construct hypothetical situations in which this Unlock offers any meaningful benefits, let alone being a superior option to the alternative, which is a Debuff on Melee Hits (which DOES make sense!).

Please. Somebody. Anybody. Explain and/or describe how Furious Footwork can be leveraged in ANY way that is advantageous, because right now I just don't see any possible uses for this option, especially given the alternative.

The best use of this ability is for those of us that are build for ranged combat.

Something gets near you, you take a swing at them for the 20% speed increase and use that to get out of the area. It's not intended to help you in Melee combat, it's used to escape from Melee combat.

Okay. And here I thought it might have a use as a way to continue pressing the (melee) attack(s) ... somehow ... and all it turns out to be good for is ... disengaging? It's only good for "running away" ...?

Well. Solved that little problem of what to pick ...
