I'd love to see more non-Klingon KDF ship options at T6. But even setting aside the "what's in it for Cryptic" conversation, there are solid reasons lore-wise why there aren't.
Gorn and Orion designs go back before they were absorbed into the Empire.
The Gorn starting out as an unwilling member of the Empire, it's easy to see why they would have been discouraged from developing new ships. After a certain point in time, when the most advanced designs are coming out of the KDF and more Gorn are resigned to being in the Empire, the need for a new Gorn vessel isn't that great. Gorn engineers are already putting their ideas into the newer KDF ships, one would suppose.
Now, a KDF ship with Gorn-inspired technology, that would be an interesting design.
The Orions are a bit different. Their original designs are basically slaver/pirate ships. But I see Orions in the KDF being pragmatic enough to recognize that it's easier and more lucrative to let the Klingons design and build ships and then use them for their own purposes. Not that they might not be building new slaver designs somewhere, but you won't see a KDF officer flying one.
It's not clear from the shows (as far as I can recall) that the Letheans ever developed warp drives of their own or had their own ships. Their inclusion in the Empire isn't fully explained either. I would surmise that their world was eventually annexed by the Empire and that they were co-opted due to the usefulness of their telepathic abilities. But before that, it's not hard to imagine them using their telepathic powers to hijack a starship. Once they got into space and became assassins/mercenaries for hire, they wouldn't have needed to develop their own ships. (In practical terms, since we've never seen a Lethean ship, the ship designers don't have a starting point.)
The puzzler for me is the Ferasan. According to their lore (and the origin from which they sprang), they should have had warp flight of their own and it's definitely odd that the Caitians have a ship while they don't. However, since they don't, a T6 version seems unlikely unless they decide to build a T6 version of the Atrox and spin it off into a Ferasan version.
Umm...could it be because every time Cryptic releases any ship the following things occur?
- Someone complains in these forums about how the model is all wrong and quotes some obscure reference as their justification.
- Someone complains because the new ship does not have seven Commander universal BOff stations.
- Someone complains the ship is terrible and not at all like the one that appeared for fifteen seconds onscreen.
That one had a seven/five weapons layout and fifteen console slots. It also came with the Mega Obliviator Console.
- Someone complains about the ship being OP. Because it finishes an STF, dinner, and a Master's degree all at the same time.
In under fifteen seconds.
-Someone complains the T6 version does not come with the Extra Special Cheesy Cheesy Console and how it is a slap in the face to members of the Workers Soviet everywhere that Cryptic "forces" the proletariat to purchase the same ship twice.
Lenin was right. STO really is the opiate of the masses.
And lastly someone complains the new ship is too expensive. "Cryptic should be giving away T6 ships because I have played this game every day religiously since Wozniak and Jobs created the Apple II and I deserve some freebies!"
I think that about covers the flyby.
Side note: Starfleet Dental members. Certified Wedding Planner? Rapid Response Lightening Team? Just when I think I've seen nearly everything you guys can do or say in game or here, you move once more in a thoroughly strange and very funny direction. Thanks for the laughs, SFD. I really do appreciate your ability to make me chuckle when I don't feel like it.
You forgot someone complains about the complaints.

"The higher the fewer."
How dare you complain about the complaints of the complainers' complaints! I'd like to lodge a complaint!
No, you've got it about right. There's always somebody.
