Why make new T6 Flagship models if they are not compatible with the old Bortasqu' models? Why am I flying a K'tinga with no nacelle glow? Why am I flying a B'rel with no access to the B'rotlh model? Why aren't the KDF Command Battleships compatible with each other either? Why do we have growing questions as to why KDF ships have growing model problems? Do KDF ships just not deserve the same attention as Federation ship models? I know this thread won't be taken seriously or read by Devs but I'm still very curious.

For one, the Klingon (and Romulan) factions are throwaways, when compared to the Federation faction. Secondly, I have the feeling that there is an active effort to unincentivize kitbashing, however haphazardly it may be being done.

It seems to me that they just don't have the staff to make certain things really good or really right. It's the old 'one-armed paper hanger' scenario. They have to keep coming out with Seasons and episodes and also introduce new ships and there's also bug fixes on occasion and they have to pick and choose what gets priority. They just don't have the time to go back and make it all really slick. At one time, they actually designed several ships so that their parts were interchangeable. For example, on the Klingon side, you had the Tor'khat, Vor'cha and Vor'kang. And all those ships had interchangeable pieces. Fantastic! You just don't see that kind of attention anymore because it probably took too many resources in order to make something like that happen.

I'm actually glad to see the upcoming visual slots because that's another way I can make my ships unique while still slotting equipment for performance. They can't do it all and I'd bet they're also getting marching orders from a parent company that wants modifications that can maximize profit. Nothing wrong with that...every company looks at the business from that perspective...but again, they have to pick and choose what gets time and attention.
