The simple fact of the matter is that we won't see anything done with PvP. As a previous poster stated, they neither have the desire or the ability to do anything with PvP, beyond adjusting numbers and flicking switches. You want better xp rewards, they can do that (though probably won't). You want more/less to a queue, they could probably do that. You want to disable powers in PvP, they can do that (but as previously stated, won't).

Basically anything that requires more complexity than altering some variables is a no no.

As for rebalancing, why would they be interested in doing that? This game (and a lot of the powercreep being added) is geared towards the very casual gamer market. The part of the player base that has trouble killing/surviving Borg probes. The majority of the playerbase NEEDs that powercreep, needs those immunities, just so they survive long enough to be carried through an ISA and imagine they're captain Kirk and not captain Esteban.

I want a PvP revamp, I want rebalancing (or atleast a lot of powers being disabled in PvP), I want more maps. It's just not going to happen.

PvP is effectively dead, time to let it go. I'm finally getting there.

I originally made this forum to let people to say if they want PvP so there might be a chance that Cryptic can see this and actually think of changing PvP, not to say why asking for PvP is useless. I think we all know why Cryptic does not want to work on PvP. I originally made this to be a petition-like thing, not a place to say why Cryptic won't support PvP.

You can keep saying why there will be no PvP change, or what you would like to see in PvP in this thread, however this thread is more of an extra of what I am trying to do. I am trying to get supporters for change or removal of PvP and have moved that to http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1215631/pvp-improve-or-remove . Rules are explained there!

There is only two ways that they can balance PvP. 1) rebalance ALL skills and abilities and items to have two sets of stats. One for PvE and one for PvP. 2) Make and sell PvP ships/ground kits that you will need to PvP and have those be internally balanced. Why sell instead of give away? Because they are a FRAKING buisness and they NEED to make money to stay OPEN.

Now the issue. The 1st option ain't gonna happen. They don't have the dev power to even do something like this even if they WANTED to. And they don't want to because there isn't a lot of ways to make that money back. And seriously, wasting that much dev time will seriously TRIBBLE the PvE people off as the rest of the game will fall apart if they were to try a massive overhaul like that. They might as well switch engines at that point.

2nd option has been REPEATEDLY declined by the playerbase.
What playerbase? The few people that still play PvP? The ymight not be as relevant as you think - whether they leave or do not leave might not matter as much as if they can get players to join the PvP part of the game.

This Ex-PvPer would support option 2. It seems the only feasible one. They can still have a "Free For All" PvP (like Champions Online at least had for a while, with Freeform PvP and ARchetype based PvP) for people that want the old no holds barred style. Nothing wrong with that, and probably not that hard to keep.

Creating option 2) however would still require lots of effort. The advantage to 1) that you can start small - create, say, 4 ships per faction as your starting point. 3 per faction would be free, and the 4th would then the first purchasable one.

The big question is - will PvP ship or ground archetypes actually sell? After all, you are already selling the real ships to players, selling them again sounds unfair.

There is a way to make PvP (team vs team) if they make it a Fleet thing. If fleets are given the option to create fleet ships that any fleet member can us for PvP, then that could work. The fleet will do all it can to make their fleet ships the best they could be...all the way to full Epic gear. Then whenever members want to use them for PvP then all it takes is practice with your mates and master that ship. Expand on this idea and all who want to play and defend the fleet will pick one or two types of ships and be good at them. They then see what those ships have in them and copy them for their own special character ship. There is a difference between a Character's ship and a Fleet ship because there are members who will contribute material for that ship and not one single player...this eliminates the cost to an individual player. There will come a time when players will have to defend their Bases against other fleets, otherwise, why are there items in our Bases for defense. The rest is TEAMWORK.

PvP improved because it's the only logical course of action for the PvP itself
