Scheduled Maintenance [March 24th, 2016]

Greetings Captains!

We will be having our scheduled maintenance tomorrow 3/24 at 6AM PST for 4 hours. We will be performing a standard server restart as well as account server maintenance, so there are no patch notes.

    I don't suppose The Breach event could be extended by several hours?
    I missed ONE day and just completed my 13th day, and the downtime will be about 90 minutes before I could have done it again. Your event says until 10 am but technically you block off 4 hours of that time for updates so it really isn't the full hours you state:

    March 3, 9 a.m. - March 24, 10 a.m.

    As much sympathies as one could have, they never made this. Only time extensions are granted is if something unforseen happens and the maintenance is already scheduled into the event time. Besides, there's always someone, even after the extension, being that one run/hour/minute short. Cryptic can't really make an exception for everyone pig-9.gif​​

    My hope is they run it again so I can finish my 2 characters who are also up to 13/14. I am always about a week behind on the Mirror Invasion one because something crazy is always going on in my life when it comes up.

    But that doesn't come as a surprise. You know that thursdays, 6 AM in whatever time zone (pacific?), there is maintenance. Every thursday, all the time. When they extended other events it was due to server outtage or something similiar unforseen.​​

    I'm going to have the same problem. If maintenance is always Thu at 6am then why don't they make the event end at that time rather than 4 hours later, or at least before the daily reset so players don't count on that time to complete events. The last run players end up missing ruins the whole event for them and turns them off from attempting future events. I have 4 events left uncompleted in my rep log, which before the events became one-time-only wasn't an issue as I could finish them off next year, now all that time was simply a waste. Special events are supposed to incite players to play more, not the other way around.

    Since they're also doing network maintenance, I really hope the map transfer freeze bug gets squashed. Having to force close STO 5-10 times a day is annoying.

    According to the time the maintenance is supposed to end, you should have 1 hour in which to run your last Breach runs. IIRC the event ends at 6pm GMT usually, although it maybe 5pm. There is also the chance that the servers will be back up even earlier.

    I quote the person before you that they should say it ends at 6 am, not 10 am Pacific.
    I only found out about this event half way through it. I was on target but missed just one day as I already said. Those 4 hours that are not given to us could have completed it.

    This is simply not true. Patches always start 3pm UK time. Today it was 1pm. I have 2 toons that are 13/14 on the breach. One of them was escaping the ship when the servers came down.

    To say I am angry doesnt come close. What is the bloody point in having the event end times published in the game only for the game to come down before hand. This server downtime was NOT well advertise (otherwise I would have gotten onto it sooner and finished my toons). I thought I had 2 hrs left - first I heard was a 30min warning and at that point I had 3 toons left.

    If an event is followed despite the shutdowns, scheduled maintenance, number of characters, or time required to complete, with much interest by gamers, and deadline is not flexible, you can only hope some players will be discouraged from participating in future events. This isn't about sympathy or extensions, but is about oportunities, for gamers and for Cryptic.

    Here it is !0:38am est and cant even get star trek launcher to even open for update. try to connect support like it said, but the is having error and wont open. try to reinstall still nothing so came here.

    I'm sorry for the people who can't complete the event. But another issue pops into my head. With the release of season 11, New Dawn, i was hoping to get new missions as was the fact at the release of Delta Rising... the Few missions we DID get were followed by a "cartoon like" story... What the hell went WRONG???
    When i want to read a comic book i will go to the newspaper store half a mile of my door and i buy a comic book! ( No offense to the storywriter of the comics btw ) Players want NEW missions, in space or ground. Instead of investing in those story comics i feel like they (Cryptic or PWE) should spend A LOT more time in solving BUGS. At least that is how i feel. Many peoples are feeling left in the cold by the game devellopers on NOT making new missions at the regulary base like before. I spended a lot of time in the game becausse i love the game, but the game will loose me and others when it continues to make STO veterans feel left in the cold. No new skill revamp or 1 new mission on release is going to change that for a while. Come on guys, put your backs into it again and give players something to look out for.

    It is a server restart, no patch to download.

    Well, I was wondering where the patch notes were. Just server maintenance, eh? Must be all hands on deck for S11.5!

    Just stared playing this a few days ago as an alternate for World of Warcraft and it's kinda great...was wondering if this "reset day"happened in this game as well...for WoW it's on tuesday, and sometimes takes half the day to complete...is ARC any faster at it or is it the same ole same ole?

    Seeing as April 5 is coming up, I'd say First Contact/Day of Honor/ Romulan Freedom day is next. Then there is the featured episode coming up the next week.

    @Jumper maintenance usually lasts 3.5 to 4 hours except on the release of new content; those are subject to Murphy's Law.

    We've extended our maintenance window by 30 minutes in order to accommodate upgrades to our account server.

    Of which there have been none during this event. Last one claimed by the usual party was over a month ago.

    It was only an hour early for them. Blame our differing adjustment times for Daylight Saving/Summer Time for the other one. The US, where Cryptic is based, switched over already, while the UK will not until this Sunday. There was a disconnect between the launcher and this post for start time and length of downtime, but that could be down to the one listed here being STO's scheduled downtime, while the one stated on the launcher being something else from PWE overlapping that.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    For those of you ho think you privlilaged to have time added to the event, your seriesly wrong. 14 days plus 7 day. thats one hole weak extra, to get it done. that means when you'r done you could get 7 days of extra dill, fleet marks, and rep marks. So don't demaned extra time when there was more then enough time clearly stated. and its your fault if you waited till the last moment when the server is down like clock work every thursday at the same time, it may be down longer some times, but it always starts at 6 am PST. plus every event is anounced ahead of time so check the forums every day, it takes like 5 seconds.

    ok np take your time, i just keep on reading the book "Where did the towers go?" by dr Judy Wood, i've gotten to the part that describes molecular dissonance as a probable result of an energy weapon. I addition i watch the Dutchsinse youtube channel and in specific the playlist titled ''weather modification'' because with the censorship of hurricane Erin being on its way to NY at that time, it is hinted that the energy used to power the desintegration of the towers had something to do with the hurricane. Very interesting, and since it covers energy weaponry, it is closely related to star trek. So i can comfortably do with the extended maintenance period.

    Kinda funny how the new highlight missions ''Purity'' seems to dig into the same thematics, i'm eager to continue with part three. Not in the least because i seemingly no longer have two legs,
