As someone who has played online multiplayer games since Diablo , I can say with absolute certainty that STO has the most unstable service of any game I have played.
The servers or the gateway to the servers have been periodically glitchy since beta; Cryptic has also been DDOS attacked innumerable times. To claim that other players must have some individual technical failure is a troll comment. That said, the game is UP "most of the time" and quite enjoyable to play. With anything as intricate and complex as this game is there are bound to be issues and I am certain that a small staff of people at Cryptic is working diligently to correct these problems as they crop up.
It is marginally useful as a method of communicating with Cryptic to post on the Forum that you cannot log in: making incindiary remarks about the game (or other players posting) is not helpful.
