I really wanted a Romulan Carrier ever since LoR launched, but the way they made this lockbox assured that the prices for the KDF and the Romulan ships are ridiculous, lower population, lower generated ship numbers. Last time I checked you could get two Vonphs and would have a hundred million ec left for the price of the T'Laru.
I usually tie these things to a combination of ingame economics, and ICly needs. There are only a few on the exchage, so they will be ludicrously priced (the STO merchants are somewhere between Friedman and Pinochet, lol). As for ICly needs, I can tell you that bewteen the New Romulan Republic, Reman Resistance, and the Romulan Star Empire, no more than a dozen T'laru class Warbirds are currently under construction.
